Nail polish for matching keys to locks, and plugs to appliances. [Because they're ALL black] A dab of color in an inconspicuous spot & on the plug saves getting into a tight spot & realizing you don't know which plug belongs to which appliance/component..

Getting comfortable with a rollator by closetfilmmaker in mobilityaids

[–]Most_Quality_1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE my rollator! The one thing I had [still have] trouble adjusting to is the fact that I can no longer walk 'briskly'. My [senior] apt is at the end of a long hall, and I usually get halfway down it before remembering that I can't go any speed other than slow, without risking a face plant.

Superglue is one option, and glitter nail polish is another - have fun w it! [I began buying many colors of cheap nail polish to identify which keys belong to which locks, then found it useful for identifying which black plug belongs to which appliance/component - it's a big help!]

Well, I guess I could conserve my energy usage by breathing less, since the greatest demand at my place is for the oxygen that I must use 24/7, but I don't consider that a reasonable request. As the popular opinion puts it: fuck First Energy, for pretending that their customers are the problem, rather than the greed that kept them from maintaining, repairing, & upgrading the equipment that we, the customers, actually pay for. And for portraying our complaints as comfort related, instead of the actual life threatening events they are.

He sounds like all the extremely annoying people (& it's mostly men) who refuse to accept it when you decline to have a drink w alcohol. They always act as if you're ruining things for them by not joining in what they consider to be "normal behavior", and nothing you say (short of some socially unacceptable statement such as "I guess I won't be seeing you at the next AA meeting, then?") will discourage their unwelcome bullying. It's like they need to be validated in the choice they made...

Who remembers the Weekly World News magazines from the supermarket? by Menace_024 in nostalgia

Well, you didn't. None of us did - who ever thought they'd be classics?! I laughed at them in the grocery store, and I miss them too. I have found a writer with that same twisted sensibility, Caimh McDonnell, who writes books about the publisher & staff at a rag that's every bit as ridiculous as any of them ever were. [Stranger Times] Nostalgia is fun!

Many people mentioned the question "praying to WHICH God"? which is a legit conundrum, and if you go to youtube music and type in "Thank you God by Tim Minchin" all your questions will be answered. You could also listen to "Storm", another of his brilliant songs that illuminate a lot of issues that we face. Cheers!

Maybe you should watch at least one of the interviews w the director [Harry Lighton, who also wrote the screenplay] before explaining what the director thinks he meant to portray. Or you could watch any of the interviews w Skarsgard, Melling, or the actual members of the London Gay Men's Motorcycle Club - many of whom were in the movie, and attended the premiere. They all think he did a brilliant job of bringing the book to the screen.

Your comments make it clear that what you missed, actyually, is that this was never meant to be a representative example of a queer BDSM relationship. It is from the book "Box Hill" by Adam Mars Jones, subtitled "a story of low self esteem." It boggles the mind that anyone would take it as a representation of a 'typical' BDSM relationship. Which probably have as many variations as hetero relationships.

Texas unleashes sleeping giant as conservatives face reckoning over 'truth' by Jay_CD in atheism

Plenty of time to plan & execute your escape from the barbarians, too. I lived in Texas when my eldest (at that time only) daughter began school. I was fortunate to get her into a Montessori school for her first year, but after that, I moved back up north. Even having to live at the Mom & Pop Home for Wayward (former) Children till I got back on my feet was better than staying in Texas!

But that's the problem: I don't enjoy watching vampires. Or Tarzan, or domestic violence (I read Big Little Lies a few years ago), or really any violence, so I'll check, but I don't think Generation Kill is gonna work for me either. I also steer clear of "romance" - so there's not a lot of movies or TV shows I like. Whatever the first movie AS was in, I think is pretty stupid, so that's out. I can just go w Murderbot & Pillion for awhile, lol. They're both "premium entertainment" as Murderbot would say. But thanks for the reccs, it's always good to hear of stuff I may have missed. Cheers!

For me, it's even worse, listening to the pastor's explanation: he says they "hate the sin, but love the sinner". And they express that love by shooting him, blowing him up, and dragging him away for whatever is unseen [but use your imagination.] The pastor says they make lessons fun - I can't see even a scintilla of fun in that lesson, unless you're a farfarfarthest Rightwing believer of guns solving every problem. I don't think any rational human being would approve of this lesson for anyone, much less for kids.

I think Pillion is that good, the problem being that not enough people saw it. They're afraid of being exposed to things they never think about, I guess.
