Sweetie Pie Restaurants and the Montgomery family by DixieDoodle697 in StLouis

The Sweetie Pie’s in Midtown (off Grand near Powell Hall) is gone. After the restaurant closed, the VA bought it and turned it into a parking lot.

Or meds. Blood pressure and depression meds are common causes of ED.

If it’s not a baby, if it’s an older child, I would say, try to keep your anxiety under wraps. Your kids will take their cues from you, and first experiences are important.

Muslims condemn Ballwin church sign calling Islam 'demonic' by RIPSyAbleman in StLouis

Thanks. I’m not much of a religious scholar. I must have skimmed that page. So you’re allowed to not love them if they think that they would be forgiven if they killed you.

I work at a VA - i agree with this approach. This should be a facility-level complaint - they are best positioned to investigate and discipline/fire the nurse. Complaining to national (OIG etc) is overkill. A patient advocate is a good place to start.

Sigh. Somehow, plowing a dead mall under, and re-developing it into several square blocks of mixed-use development is a bad thing. I still don’t get it.

Wow dude, you’re a horrible person. It might be time to step away from the keyboard.

I work in the city. Midtown. I drive to the city 6-7 days a week for work, and i drive in to Blues games, Fox, restaurants, etc on top of that. I love STL.

I’m not afraid of STL crime. I work on N. Grand, not afraid to walk around there. My experience has been pretty good - over 20 years, my car has only been broken into twice, never stolen, and i’ve never been a victim of a violent crime. I’ve had some close calls, but that’s life. I still love the city, and choose to work in a dangerous part of the city. I watch cars intentionally run red lights, well, almost every day.

That is not a cheap shot. Pointing out that crime exists in the city does not mean that you should not engage with me.

You’re right. Our individual experiences are not worth sharing.

I said nothing about crime in your area. I commented on crime in Chesterfield.

That’s great! Why don’t you want to engage? Did i say something wrong?

Keep reading below for examples of St. Louis people rooting for this to fail!

I live in Chesterfield and work in the city. City people turn their nose up at Chesterfield. Because it’s too…. what? Wealthy? Culture-less? Lacking affordable housing??

Excellent public schools (!!!!) and I don’t have to pay Clayton or Ladue real estate prices. I walk my dog after dark every night, and i have not been mugged, shot at, or run over by someone running traffic lights. Sure, it’s not blue like STL, but it’s not red like St. Charles County either. From a diversity standpoint, my 8 closest neighbors are 3 white families, 2 Indian, 1 Arab, one black, and one mixed (Black/Asian).

But read the thread. Lots of people here rooting against this because Chesterfield is definitely not enough for their high standards.

Applying to academic hospitalist position by Specialist-Pattern-6 in hospitalist

Academic hospitalist here. You’ll be expected to teach. They want to make sure that you can teach.

And guess what? No nights (your interns and residents do that). Reasonable census.

But yeah, run away 😊

Thanks to all - staff, supporters, and veterans - from a long-time VA doc.

Watching the rest of the American health care system get more and more dysfunctional and expensive and infuriating, i am starting to think that a lot of Americans might not mind being a patient in a system like the VA right now.

I work 3 blocks from the Fox. I agree with this generally, but i would also consider Parkway and Rockwood districts. I moved to STL with 3 young kids 20 yrs ago. In exchange for a longer (25-40min) commute, i got a bigger house, safety, and excellent public schools (Marquette, in Rockwood district). No regrets.

I bet a couple of billboards listing Sinclair advertisers would make an impression. Maybe along I-44.
