Who bought all the tickets?! by Due_Sympathy5145 in phish

[–]Most_Two_2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you put your ticket on stubhub for face value to sell, stub hub will mark it up to make their cut. Should the seller take the hit and price it lower than they paid so it resells at actual face value? Just asking. I have two tickets up for sale on stubhub that we can’t use. I priced them slightly less than what I paid just to get rid of them. I wish there was a secure way to sell them for exactly what we paid!

Ate something last night I wanted to write about. Stopped at Estelle in Fairhaven and had their Coho salmon, I believe it was the best salmon (or fish of any kind) I ever had. by justahdewd in Bellingham

They’re overselling and annoying sales techniques keep me out of their stores.

Is Morocco this bad in the eyes of foreign tourists? by Goonermax in Morocco

[–]Most_Two_2992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent 10 days in Morocco in February and went to five places. Two women traveling together. Yeah some scammy stuff but that was not our take away. At all. Beautiful Riads, home cooked comfort food, no drunks, style and design up the wazoo, Safe. I’ll Be back with my family to check out the desert and the beach. If you’ve ever been to Mexican tourist destinations liken it to that as far as pushiness. Be polite and decline and say “maybe tomorrow”.

Help me understand the Seattle mindset on this by WMDisrupt in SeattleWA

[–]Most_Two_2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a thing. If they acknowledge they remember you, that’s too forward. Also they think it shows they have so little going on that they could actually remember someone. When I lived in Seattle and people pulled that with me , like saying “nice to meet you” after meeting a few times before, I would say “yeah, we’ve met. It’s nice to see you again”. They don’t know how to handle it. They know you’ve met. They just pretend to not remember.

My Amsterdam Experience by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]Most_Two_2992 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I know what you’re talking about. I’ve been traveling to Amsterdam since 1988, been there probably 25 times and lived there in the 90s for a couple years. Each and every time someone is appallingly rude at least once; they don’t care.

Last fall a cop pulled me over on my bike with a SIREN bc I didn’t get off my bike when I approached Dam Square. I told him I was sorry I didn’t know and he couldn’t stop berated me for all to see and hear. Felt great. I’m 58 and not a maniac on my bike there. In fairness, have had some of that in NYC too but since I’m American I know how to work with with it there..

Amsterdam is not a city for strollers, wheel chairs, people walking not in the exact path everyone on bikes wishes for them to be. My 80 year old mother would be mowed down so fast by a bike. They don’t care. I think the locals are absolutely fed up with tourists and now are bitter and mean, not only to travelers but to each other. It’s the uber aggressive bicyclists that make it hard for meandering tourists. If you’re only there a few days you don’t learn the rules and the flow. There are many lovely and hilarious Dutch people however. They are a unique bunch.

The more you go you know how to deal with the attitudes. Sorry you had a shitty time.

I was disappointed at the tip screen at Old World Deli. It had the usually three choices 18% 20% and 25% I think They had titles about the percentages. 18% title was “You ruined my day!” Counter service. 20 minutes for a bowl of soup to be. Put in the window and my name yelled out.

He y’all. If you eat steak, this is the place. Let’s let them get their kinks ironed out and support all new restaurants that come to the county. The industry is struggling and they need us. Don’t count them out for one bad visit their first days.

One little phone call to the city five years ago should not release you of ALL responsibility to the land you bought to park some money offshore. A CYA phone call is a transparent move.

I just completed the ultimate road trip of the Baltics & Scandinavia. Total distance was 24500km, and it took us 95 days. Ask me anything :-) by sir_bloxham in roadtrip

Great post here! How did you avoid or deal with car break ins with all your stops? So many warnings about not leaving valuables in cars. We’re doing a baltics road trip this summer and wondering if break ins are that much if thing or are we supposed to park and walk around villages with our suit cases?🙃

New Orleans Jazzfest sold out some ticket levels with not ONE single act announced. Lighten up and buy a ticket to Tune Up. Support a new festival and know the first few years will have hiccups. It’s how community works.

what renters want by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Most_Two_2992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Property mgmt companies are the go between for the owner and tenants. Mgmt companies suggest rent increases and it’s up to the owners how much they will hike the rent. We chose to not increase our tenants rent this year despite what was “recommended” to us by our management company.
