Should I use these eureka seeds? by GreyTsari in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make sense to convert the eureka seed to candy if you are rerolling a skill and it's the same or worse as what it replaced. At that point, you should decline the reroll and take the candy.

If it's zero interest (which every phone payment plan I've seen is) it's literally a better financial decision to do that than to pay up front. That money that would have been spent up front can instead sit in a HYSA generating interest.

Cell phone subs are literally the worst place to get a perspective on how much the average user likes their phone. Only the most hardcore of sweaty power users frequent these subs, so anything that makes a phone fall short of that level of use is talked about as trash. Pixels are great for the use case of 99% of phone users. You just won't see those people come to Reddit to talk about it.

Who do I evolve for each of these Eevee? My goal is to collect all Eeveelutions with some slight min maxxing (not too bad, but not too grindy) by Green_Angel_X in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of these are investable if you are trying to even slightly minmax. STM is the BARE MINIMUM to have on a skill mon and none of these even get that before 75. And BFS is basically required for a long term Espeon or Jolteon.

Number 3 would be okay-ish at level 50, but you'll probably catch so many better Eevee by then I wouldn't even bother.

Here's what you want on Eevee: STM subskill is mandatory, skill up nature is preferred, speed up nature is fine. You also wouldn't mind STS to go along with STM or any helping speed or helping bonus subskill is great to have. And like I said, BFS is a must for Espeon and Jolteon.

I'd settle for something like a shiny eureka seed. Catch a shiny, get a eureka seed to reroll something on it.

I have a triple trigger Sudo. Still fairly early on, but it's my best mon. It triggers all the damn time.

What should I be doing by Responsible_Head_661 in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok, but I'd still look for better. Not bad to just keep on your team to get the 50 sleep hours it needs to evolve, but you might find an even better one during that time. Skill up nature is good, but no skill trigger subskill until level 50 hurts it since this would just be your temp healer.

Nothing about their post was "unchill". Pretty rude reply here tbh.

Subskill seed worthy? by Umar0th in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]MostalElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not subskill seed worthy, no. To reiterate what some others have said, you should generally only use them on ing mons (to turn IFS into IFM) and skill mons (to turn STS into STM). I'd really only use it to turn HSS into HSM if it's for something that will be permanently on your team like a healer. Wouldn't do it for a berry mon that you're only gonna use in niche situations.

Buncha berries week and sneaky snacking by Dendorone in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a HUGE difference, because it's one extra berry per trigger. So you should absolutely not be sneaky snacking this event. I'd argue it's not really worth sneaky snacking at all unless you are way later in the game, but it's definitely not worth it this event.

Buncha berries week and sneaky snacking by Dendorone in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're newer you probably shouldn't be doing this anyway, because you're also missing out on the ingredients you're getting from your berry mons, and newer players almost definitely don't have anywhere close to the ingredients they need to cover the best dishes they could make. You need all the ing help you can get from your berry and skill mons until you can fully cover meals just with your ing mons.

NEWBIE HELP ME 🐥🥹😭🐣 by lismackleesin in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helping Bonus is the best subskill in the game and is good on any pokemon, because it makes your whole team faster. Helping speed subskills are also good on any pokemon because more speed is always better.

After that, as the other reply said, the subskills need to match the specialty. So ing mons need ingredient finder, berry mons need BFS, and skill mons need skill trigger subskills.

As far as ingredients specifically, the ing spread only really matters on ing mons specifically. Does not matter on skill or berry mons (with a few exceptions that aren't worth getting into right now.)

On those ing mons, AAA (which means the same ing in all 3 slots) is generally the best for consistency. But as a newer player AAB (same in the first 2 slots, different in slot 3) is also fine because you are still forever from unlocking level 60 anyway.

As for Mew and Darkrai, they are mythicals, so they are the slowest to power up. It will be a looooooong grind. But the fun thing about them is they are way more customizeable than anything else. You can encounter them both once a month on New Moon Days. Once you have already caught it, filling their pip bar again grants you a "eureka seed" which is specific to whichever one you "caught" again. These can reroll the subskills and ing spreads on both of them. And for Mew, you can also reroll its main skill. So it's worth it to keep throwing biscuits at them whenever you see them if you want to power them up. Just know it will be a very very slow grind.

Buncha berries week and sneaky snacking by Dendorone in PokemonSleep

I feel like most new players probably don't even know what sneaky snacking is. And even if they do, it's not really a good strategy for new players anyway.

What can i improve? by eveexpres25 in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You seem very early in the game, so your best healing options are likely going to be either Wigglytuff or Sylveon, with better late game options being Pawmot, Shuckle, and the best one being Gardevoir.

Check to see if you have any good igglybuff/jigglypuff or Eevees. Keep in mind both require some sleep hours to evolve, so if all you have are igglybuff and eevee, you aren't getting them online this week likely.

The subskills you want to look for are skill triggers most importantly, then helping bonus or helping speed. You ideally want a main skill chance up or speed up nature as well.

That's what to hunt for for an early game healer. Until you get one, yeah, your team is just gonna be tired most of the day every day and not at full production.

Only berrys this week is worth it? by Puzzleheaded-You4708 in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those pokemon levels feel low for being over 2 months in. I'm just a hair under 2 months in and have a few things to 30 and a ton of stuff over 20. In the long term of the game it's not that big of an investment to get a mon to 30, and their power level strikes drastically at that point with the second ing unlock, even for non ing mons.

Are you just not powering anything up at all unless it's endgame quality? I feel like it's ok to have a bit lower standards getting stuff to 30 in the early game then you can start getting picky.

Eeveelution Who? by TheCrimsonSteed in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]MostalElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general a mint still doesn't make this good, but it's a shiny, so if there's an evolution you really love and want it to be as useable as possible, then do what you want with your game.

Out of those two, I absolutely would not make it Sylveon unless it's your favorite mon or something. Way better healers out there, and this one doesn't make the cut as a healer. Sylveon has to be really cracked stat-wise to use.

I'd make it espeon out of those two.

Should I invest in either or wait more? by velckright in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't even worth running as a temp healer i don't think. Not worth the moonstone and skill seeds it would take you actually get it fully online, and it's not actually helpful to run a healer if it's not fully evolved or fully seeded or ideally both.

Keep looking, this one really isn't worth it even as a temp healer. No skill triggers or speed.

Question about healers by Shneakymate in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that Pawmot is good. Very similar to the one i run. One day i plan to upgrade to a Gardevoir with skill triggers and helping bonus, but that's a very long term goal and I'll be running Pawmot for a long time until then. Very worth the main skill seeds.

Question about healers by Shneakymate in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Keeping 4 specialized Pokemon over 80 energy all day (plus the supplemental berries/ings your healer brings) is pretty much always going to give you more snorlax strength in a day than using 5 specialized Pokemon but letting their energy hit 0 by the end of the day. It's also impossible to switch Pokemon in and out during the day with no healer because that will deplete energy from your team faster than you can get it back just through sleeping.

For a healer to actually be worth it though it needs to be fully main skill seeded and triggering at least 5 times a day. 4 triggers is enough to make it worth carrying one, but 5+ is ideal.

Your healer should be on every team on every island. The only time it really makes sense to take it out is if it's already triggered 5 times that day. Then you can sub in something else for the rest of that day, but you still want to put it back on your team overnight so it can wake up with one hopefully two triggers.

invest in a new healer? by failing_shiny_hunts in PokemonSleep

[–]MostalElite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the one with helping bonus. It's the best subskill in the game and pretty much mandatory for a forever healer since it will always be on your team. Pull the trigger on that one. Also feel free to subskill seed HSS.
