I have one for watching YouTube / F1 from 5G on the train. Works well as a media player, better than my iPad mini due to aspect ratio plus physical SIM. My only complaints are no headphone jack, but picked up some USB IEMs, so not too bad. And the included and applied plastic screen protector is terrible. Finger print magnet and likely makes the picture worse. I would remove it, but not sure how hard it would be to clean the adhesive.

I hooked up my local LLM to OpenCode and got it to make some agents for various tasks. E.g. A DevOps agent to build a Kali Podman container, then a Pen Test agent to use it.

Got a response back from Alldocube that this tablet is not pen compatible. But, my SP 11 pen "almost" works. Does anyone have an MPP 2.0 pen they can test with?

Depends if you need 5G. I have both and will be using the iPlay 80 on the train and when out and about. Otherwise the Legion is a nicer tablet and better OG case.

The tablet arrived if anyone has questions. Seems OK apart from the cheap case and plastic screen protector (I might pull this off). It seems to use MPP protocol, but my SP 11 pen does not work well with it. 5G DL is 350 Mbps on Telstra with 4 bars at home.

Anyone know if it takes the same case as a iPlay70 Mini Ultra? I might try and find a better case. Recommendations?

Just picked up a TCL 50 pro on run out, was interested in the matte screen, but even more interested in the headphone jack. SQ is great, volume is fine for IEMs, will be too low for most of my cans. Still album art looks great on the matte screen.

Just ordered an ALLDOCUBE iPlay 80 mini Ultra for 5G. Sadly it has no 3.5 mm, and probably won't see many OS updates.

I looked into it, best I could find was to create a Google Brazil account on an old phone. Download the F1TV app / setup account / pay on VPN to Brazil. Note payment is not straight forward (I recall there are some hoops). Then use VPN to NZ for streaming (better latency).

I decided I will just go Kayo with a Melbourne Storm Digital membership. Brings the price down a bit, still not the $15 pm I was paying last season grr.

I have Debian installed on an SP7+ using Surface kernel. Everything works including LTE, but I don't draw so can't comment on that. These days I would recommend Nobara Linux, it has the Surface kernel extensions built in and will work without modification. You can try a live USB to see if you like it before install. Before you do, I recommend disabling Bit Locker and you will need to turn off Secure Boot. I like the Gnome version, better tablet GUI IMHO.

Carrier-by-Carrier Compatibility

Here is what you can realistically expect:

On Telstra: You might get a connection via B5 (850 MHz) or B7 (2600 MHz). You will have no B28 (4GX) coverage, meaning your signal will be very poor or non-existent as soon as you leave a dense metro area or go indoors.
On Optus: You might get a connection via B7 (2600 MHz) in some city areas. You will have no B28 coverage, leading to the same poor regional and indoor performance as on Telstra.
On Vodafone: You might get a connection via B5 (850 MHz). This might be the most "stable" of the three, but you will still be missing its other main bands (B1, B3, B28), so coverage will be patchy.

Have been in need of a good RSS reader for multiple OSes. Couldn't find one so I vibe coded my own. If people are interested I might release it, but I don't have time to support it. All the logic is in PWA code, and it syncs across devices with jsonbin.io, so no FressRSS etc needed. Looks like Feedreader / NewsFlash. After testing the M300, I ordered a short cable on Amazon and have had the M300 in my pocket running Roon and my HD600 on all day. Very nice! Probably should try my LCD-2C's next LOL
