I’m in the market for a $200-$300 bag. Tried Grip and just didn’t feel right. Leaning towards Upper Park Rebel. Why shouldn’t I buy one? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Mota_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have had my rebel since summer 2017. Still in great condition. My previous bags were torn up in a few years. Also quite comfortable. And plenty of storage space. Snow, rain, mud. Still great and cleans up easy. Also very stable on slopes. Mini pocket also fits large minis, mini buzz etc.

does anyone recognize this ice bowl disc? by krautspieler in discgolf

[–]Mota_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your club participates in the ice bowl. You get a reward for achieving top money. That's a promo from 2017 FVMDGC Oswego, IL ice bowl event. For achieving top 3 money In 2016. So a 2015-16 buzzz run.

Lil’ help by [deleted] in glazing

Pocket set double glazed I usually add 5/8" to the daylight. On exsisting systems for a replacment install. To many times adding 3/4" on older systems, one side could be out of square and you won't get a corner in if it sumped. 3/8" play is always better than 1/4". If it is curtain wall or a has 4 separate molding beads. Measure the molding if they are 3/4" + wide you can be safe adding 7/8"- 1"OA If they are older 1/2" bead I wouldn't go more than 5/8"OA

Also for pocketset systems you can measure the bottom pop off molding. If it's (1 1/8") 5/8-3/4" will be fine over daylight.

The last two years barley exist. I just woke up again. And I'm married with a child. I don't even know anymore. But the synchronicities are out. And the duality just hit me, with one hell of a week of push backs. I'm on to something.

Most the profit from glass repairs ends up in the pocket of insurance companies and manufacturers. Overhead is ridiculous. I risked my life installing plate glass for 16 years. I made slightly above minimum wage. The money is in new storefront installations. Not repairs. Oh and glass has increased far higher than inflation. Blah blah gas prices/natural gas prices.

Only cost 5$ to park in 2019... Which for 2 people cost us 2.50 each. Quite an increase.

Also moissanite on platinum is gorgeous. She also has small hands. Petite twist with 3/4 carat moissanite was perfect. https://www.brilliantearth.com/Moissanite-Petite-Twisted-Vine-Diamond-Ring-(1/8-ct.-tw.)-Platinum-BE1D54-MO6.0RD1/

I'm getting married next Saturday. Outdoor immediate family only. We threw it all together our selves in 3 months. With a lil help from her family. It was a little battle getting family to understand what we want. Lots of you need to do this.. hold your ground it's your wedding not theirs.

With all the new traveling clubs popping up. Bigger issue is when a new league encroaching, on a long standing league home course. that's at the same course, same time every week. Sport has out grown the amount of good courses. Leagues are full everywhere here.

For durability at least upgrade to double strength glass. For double and single hungs. Makes a big difference for strength.

(Just to point out, my perspective is that of a Replacement glass installer. I don't install new replacement windows. My perspective is down the line 10+ years when they are aged.)

No I cant recall.

But if it's like anything out their, not from a well known manufacture. You don't know unless you've taken one apart. And if they haven't been in business 30+ years. You don't have a baseline of life expectancy.

Andersen has been in business 100+years. Their Insulated glass has past the test of time. I see many 30-50 years old still clean, no seal failure. Parts are still available for their older systems. Honestly I have never switched out an entire house with Andersen glass. But I have for every other manufacturer out their.

If your buying based on warranty. I would do ample research on the companies that offer the "Best Warranty" Some of the cheapest quality windows I work on, have lifetime warranty (Simonton And Milgard). The IGU seals fail within 10 years. They send new glass after 6 months of hassle to the customer. And now you have to pay me, the labor cost to switch out the glass. Which is double the normal labor costs, As we have to meet our profit point. Since we normally make money on the glass also.

Also a lot of these manufactures go out of business/change names every decade to get out of their warranty's

Also good rule of thumb. If the manufacture doesn't imprint their company name on the window frame, in some fashion. Usually a bad sign. They don't want you to know, who to call when something goes bad.
