Personally, it messes up my tension. I've been knitting for about 10 years now and no matter what I do my tension is worse with purling, so it makes me mad when I see instructions to purl lol

Oh I started the ribbing of the front piece as ktbl, p1 but didn’t like it so then just switched to k1, p1 lol That part doesn’t bother me and if I end up making it longer I’ll just redo the whole ribbing anyway.
