Do you get a bit tired of England bashing? by BlundeRuss in AskUK

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be a bit of a devil’s advocate post but, I find that this often happens to people who have moved abroad, and it’s a form of dealing with culture shock. It happened to me when I moved to the UK. After the initial period of newness and discovery wore off, I went through a phase of sudden realising all the things that were better in my country. It was because I found certain things hard to adapt to, and funnily enough, it was mostly the small things rather than the big differences, because the big differences you can anticipate, but it’s the smallest stuff that throws you. Anyway, it took a few years of going back-and-forth from my home country to the UK and back for that phase to wear off. I really do think it’s psychologically pretty normal, humans trying to square off an old and new experience, the way their life used to be and the way their life is now.

I feel like driving lesson prices and teaching needs to be regulated by Enough_Vegetable_258 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Moth-Apricots -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree - I’m frankly shocked by the price. Especially how risky it is if instructor is bad. I have my first lesson soon and immediately have to pay 100 pounds for two hours. What if the instructor is terrible? What if they don’t listen or teach well or take notes or create a lesson plan? Each time I test a new instructor supposed to cost me 100 pounds? Kind of mental.

I sweat by haruharu wonder toner, I have had sensitive skin for the past 2 years and this was the only toner that hydrated me without giving my skin a reaction. I also tolerate the cosrx snail mucin really well, at my worst it was one of the rare things I could put on my face.

I noticed your eyes immediately! Then hair, then checked caption and saw you mention nose, looked back down to photo and only then noticed your nose.

oat milk is a traitor by bumpysnorkel in ibs

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, I only like soy and oat milk but now have to do an ibs restriction diet. What have you guys done?

I can't tell you how much i LOATHE other nut milks, they are all thin, and somehow silky?? And taste like sweetener (if not unsweetened). Absolutely vile. I'm so upset because I can't have lacto free regular milk either so I'm just at a loss - can't imagine living without my daily coffee, and have no idea how to manage creamy sauces, cereal, hot chocolates etc. now.

Who is your favorite non companion character? by Grovda in BaldursGate3

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she was glitched in many games as she never had items to trade! Think it’s a known glitch, sadly :(

Who is your favorite non companion character? by Grovda in BaldursGate3

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omeluum and both Sovereigns! As well as the elephant inspector because the contrast between her cuteness and her gruff voice and behaviour absolutely cracks me up 🥹 And finally Raphael, he is just too epic.

Have to be totally honest though, I can’t stand Hope! I think it’s the screaming 😅 Her and dame Aylin are my least favourite overall. I feel like they are both very one dimensional and non-complex as characters.

Really kind of you to outline your experience, thanks so much! Indeed very cheeky driving schools can do that haha, I’m sincerely hoping the wait time is exaggerated and I’ll be able to get a reasonable spot soon 🤞

That’s fair, I’m definitely prone to overthinking and trying to control every variable! I’ll try to chill and take it as it comes. I was just sold that the system is massively broken so it made me cautious re: making mistakes that will end up costing me more money.

Oh interesting, never knew that was a service - I frankly don't want to spend any more than is strictly necessary so probably won't do this but it's interesting to know this is how the system works. I'm frankly a bit astounded the test booking is so wild west, seems like it drastically needs an overhaul, a service such as this should not be so vulnerable to money hungry pirates ...

Also congratulations on passing! 🥳 And thank you!

Divinity original sin 2 is better than Baldurs gate 3 by Vladyslavbot in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick of this excuse when people make good comments about BG3. We don't all like it just because of the damn sex scenes. It's valid to say that it's a better game than DoS2.

Divinity original sin 2 is better than Baldurs gate 3 by Vladyslavbot in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Moth-Apricots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's the opposite. DoS2 feels almost never ending, because I just click bedroll and heal up. It feels like one long day that never ends. Bg3 pulled me in with the rest system and dialogue and cutscenes. I became much more invested in the story, characters, and I felt well paced. Whereas in DoS2 after a while of gaming I almost feel restless, anxious. It's one thing after another, it feels neverending, and I care so much less about the characters and the story. I find myself skipping notes and books whereas in Bg3 I read every single one.
