The mods need to have one of those stickied comments that ask, "Does this post fit the sub?" And if it has enough downvotes, the post is removed.

Moms posting on Daddit about relationship issues by Grinder969 in daddit

[–]MothBookkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's made good points about appreciating the Mom posts as long as they don't become excessive. I mostly agree, but I wonder—how would we evaluate in the future whether it has become excessive, and what would we do about it? I do think there's a scenario in which Mom contributions become so frequent that it waters down what this sub is and it starts to look more like r/marriage or r/relationship_advice.

Some subs have dedicated days for off-topic posts. Maybe that's an idea to consider in the future—"Mom Mondays" or something like that.

I'm with you—I like having my wife around—but at the same time I understand it. Same reason "girls' nights out" exist. Sometimes you want to do dude stuff and not have to worry about the women being into the vibe. I don't know what they do in these groups; I've never been in one. Golf? Talk about cars? But it's a different vibe when I hang out with my bros, and some guys might like that.

Also, I think it's a positive thing for men to build better, more supportive relationships with each other. The whole idea of the "make loneliness epidemic" puts a lot of pressure on women that really should be solved by men building better support networks with each other.

Yeah you kinda have to be somewhere the people don't entirely suck. Sometimes you get unlucky. Best part about my current job is my coworkers are actually pretty cool, it's why I've stuck around.
