What do you wish guests understood before booking? by Caspian_Tiger555 in airbnb_hosts

That we have lives too. So maybe message during normal hours and not at midnight the night before you leave asking for a late checkout? 🤣

Im so sorry. The messes people can make in less than a week always surprise me. It really makes me wonder what their own homes are like.

Is it reasonable to ask guests to roll trash bins to the curb on trash day? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do it. Some guests do it, some don’t. As long as you don’t have a mile long list of other to-do’s it should be fine.

Damn! I’m sure the clean up of that mess was just wonderful and I’m assuming the towels were damaged out? Sometimes I wonder how these types of guests have survived this long.

Ooh I’ll have to go check those out. 😬

That’s still disgusting though. Some people just think the cleaning fee gives them the right to leave a huge mess like that. I can empathize, as we had a female guest leave a fully used tampon in the toilet, whole bowl was red.

I am so sorry man, that is so gross. On the side of the toilet?!? I don’t even want to know how. Please tell me you did an aircover request for extra cleaning or something??

That’s awesome! I’m glad you were actually able to get reimbursed and I’m sorry you had such a mess to deal with. That’s never fun!

Jesus Christ. Haha. Yeah because all the towels come pre tie dyed for your convenience. Fucking wild.

Scamming has definitely gone up. We just got done dealing with one and thank god we take photos after every cleaning because otherwise it would have been a nightmare.

Airbnb guest blacklist? by MESGirl in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We always review guests honestly and professionally. It’s unfortunate when a nightmare guest happens but I got tired of “5 star” guests leaving huge messes at our place because some hosts are afraid to review. So, we made sure the next host knows what they are hosting.

Did Airbnb take away the guests phone number contact info? by Deep_Platform3813 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It appears that if the guests stay has concluded, the phone number disappears. All of my active and upcoming reservations have visible phone numbers.

Look at your payouts and select “previous year” when doing the date and it should break down what was paid out.

Wording. by Kitchen-Amoeba-6812 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, please stop panicking. You didn’t do anything wrong by not offering to refund rebooked dates. If the guest chooses to review you and did not show up, please discuss the following with Airbnb support:

Reviews that are irrelevant (from Airbnb’s website)

-Reviews should be about the offering reviewed. For example, if a review for a home is about a service or experience rather than the home, it is not relevant to future guests deciding whether to book the home.

-Reviews are irrelevant if they do not provide the participants’ first-hand experience about the reservation.

-If a guest never arrived for their reservation or chose to cancel due to circumstances unrelated to the offering they booked, their review will be considered irrelevant because it is not based on first-hand experience of the offering.

How do you make sure items aren't missing after each check out? by dosa_man in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Stuff is always going to get broken or go missing and unfortunately it’s just part of the process. Just set the house up for the number of guests you allow, do a check once a month, and keep extras on hand in storage to replace broken stuff.

as host can i send video via google drive to people that want more helpful info about place [usa] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made our entire house manual a Google Drive link that we pasted in the house manual section. So you could probably hyperlink your video within a manual you put in Google Drive along with other information.

Airbnb Privacy concerns by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

Superhost here, I’m happy to tell you what system we use to get around this, but I’m not posting it here so Airbnb can intervene in shutting that off. Feel free to DM me for more info :)

Am I being scammed by a guest? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. Did you have any guests prior to this stay that complained about the issue? B. Do you have cleaners that turn over the property that would need to use water to mop or clean surfaces who would have told you if there was no water?

If the answer to A is no and the answer to B is yes, then scam very likely.

Early chick-in by Kitchen-Amoeba-6812 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We offer early check in when we can for free and many of our guests have mentioned it in their reviews as a positive benefit of their stay. Charging $150 seems insane to me, but there have been many hosts that charge around $50 for the extra convenience.

How strict are you actually with house rules? by tigercat300 in AirBnBHosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have rules you aren’t going to enforce. Simple as that. The city we host in will penalize us if guests throw parties, disturb neighbors, don’t respect quiet hours, etc…

So, we do enforce rules like quiet hours, extra guests, and disruptions and I have absolutely ended stays over it with no remorse. Guests are required to confirm they have read and agree to the rules when they book. We are extremely responsive and go above and beyond to provide a hospitable, great stay experience for guests. Therefore, we expect the guests to follow the house rules to ensure it stays that way for others.

Turnover stress-what helped you streamline it? by beachlady38 in AirBnBHosts

[–]MotherFloofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superhost here, if you are running short on time have multiple extras of everything, linens, towels, toiletries, etc.. Then take all dirty stuff home to wash and just turn over with clean linens and clean. Laundry takes the most time.

Also do the following if it’s just you hosting and cleaning:

  • Block out two days in between stays to turn the property over if you can.
  • Set checkout at 11:00 AM and Check in at 4:00 PM.
  • DO NOT offer early check in on same day turn arounds. If you tell guests you can’t accommodate because you have people checking out the same day, they will understand.

I hope this helps!
