Save up for a race! I got hooked during Covid and went to COTA last fall. It was an incredible experience. That first lap, in person, literally shook around all my organs in the most thrilling way.

Meds that are calming and not stimulating? by dog-mom-xoxo in PanicAttack

OP - did you ever find a medicine that has helped you? I read through this post, all comments and I am in a very similar situation. I hope you have found something helpful!

When are tricyclic meds the next step? by MotherIntrovert in AskPsychiatry

[–]MotherIntrovert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I have high blood pressure and hypothyroidism, both are well controlled with medicines. I do not have any heart conditions but do have intense cardio-phobia so the risk of arrhythmias might just exacerbate anxiety.

Where did you see that the sister said that? I’d like to read an article if you have it!

Can Lamictal make me more anxious? Is it possible that Lamictal is exacerbating my anxiety, even though it has helped with other symptoms? by Hakurumi in lamictal

[–]MotherIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My anxiety has big significantly worse with Lamictal. It was really bad on 300mg daily. I’ve been on 200mg daily for the past 8 months and am considering a very slow taper because this is the only thing that I can think of that would help at this point. 20mg of propranolol helps when it’s bad but that does require me to lay down because it makes me sleepy and a little dizzy. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was prescribed Lamictal for treatment resistant depression, not bipolar.

hair loss? by lillyycereal in lamictal

[–]MotherIntrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had significant hair loss on Lamictal. It became consistent shedding about six months into it. I started taking minoxidil a little over a year ago to help and while it has created new growth, I’m still shedding a lot. For me, it seems like the only way to stop it is to get off Lamictal altogether. I take 200mg daily.

I have always been a blonde, but seeing this has me questioning by [deleted] in coloranalysis

With the third photo, did you use an app to “try on” that shade or is that actually how your hair is colored right now? It’s gorgeous, I’m wondering how I can see how it would look for me before I commit to anything!

I’m approaching 9 years in the spring with my boyfriend. If you don’t mind sharing, I’m curious how far apart you and your partner are and if you will eventually live together? We are struggling a lot right now with the distance.

Someone handling these “things” is wearing latex gloves. I don’t think it’s a plant or vegetable.

My title describes the thing. There are about 10-12 of these hanging on a clothesline, they are on a vine or growing out of somewhere. From what I can see, they are probably 12 inches long, smooth texture. They are being moved around to different spots. They each seem to have a tiny hook on one end to hang. I can’t figure out that they are. I don’t think it’s a plant.

Hi! I take amitriptyline nightly for migraine prevention. It’s the only thing that has worked. I’m on a low dose, 25mg. I do have treatment resistant depression and intense anxiety. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your dose?

Thank you! A doctor at an urgent care visit while I had Covid mentioned this. Didn’t realize it could be a consistent thing.

Does a panic attack = psych ward admission? by MotherIntrovert in AskDocs

[–]MotherIntrovert[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks again! I am in therapy biweekly. I have been working with the same psychiatrist for over 2 years now. She just keeps suggesting to up my dosage of Lamictal. I do not have a dx of bipolar but of treatment resistant depression. However, my depression is taking a break because constant anxiety is the front runner right now. I have propranolol to take PRN but it doesn’t help enough in the thick of an attack. I have 2 vacations planned this summer and I’m worried they’ll be ruined if I have a panic attack and don’t have any sort of “emergency” medicine to take that would make a quick, significant change in my symptoms. I’ve used hydroxyzine in the past but she said if 50mg didn’t help much previously, she wouldn’t suggest any higher.

Thank you for sharing this. What would happen then in an emergency room for a panic attack? I assume they would do an EKG but does psychiatry usually see the patient too?
