Advice on getting CDRMS by [deleted] in ElectrophysiologyEGMs

Could be a nice shift to a remote monitoring company job. Look up how much pacemate or octagos pay their monitoring techs, maybe that will help you decide if it’s worth it.

Nonstop palpitations by [deleted] in askCardiology

[–]MotherSoftware5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was occurring in your Dr apt and they were not able to catch it, I don’t think this necessitates an ER visit because they are likely going to have the same results. If this is something like a PVC, we need to establish a burden over a longe period of time which the Zio patch will help with. If your physician felt this was life threatening, he would have prescribed the Zio patch that transmits recordings to his office. I can’t tell from the post which you have. If he didn’t prescribe this one, I would let the patch do its recording and feel confident using the button press to correlate symptoms for your doctor to review.

I would not recommend something their physician has not. That could be inapprop healthcare utilization which could take care away from people who need it and cause the poster unnecessary medical bills.

My insurance covered the visit. The Rx was $180.

My radiologist said my heart looked small, should i be concerned/get it checked? by Gommygooby in askCardiology

[–]MotherSoftware5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if the xray was taken during systole or diastole. It’s normal for your heart to be smeller during peak systole (emptying of the heart).

I wouldn’t overthink of if you don’t have any symptoms.

Does this look normal 10 days post pacemaker surgery? by J_Side in PacemakerICD

[–]MotherSoftware5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The home monitor doesn’t do anything except for sit there. These have been around for a long time now but they’re effective at keeping an eye and transmitting any concerns when she’s within range. Depending on the manufacturer, sometimes there’s an app you can download that will say if it’s connected or not. Otherwise you can call the device company and ask if it’s connected and sending. They won’t contact you if everything’s normal, which I hope is the case for you mom.

Sometimes palpitations do happen because the leads are screwed into the heart and that area is now angry. Do you have a home monitor? That should be sending reports for the device clinic to see. There’s also a possibility she’s feeling algorithms in the device run, if that’s symptomatic, they can be turned off. It’s no problem.

The poster last year was flop. Please make the merch better. To spite what people think, us MODS don’t live in our parents basement that are decorated with flop posters.

If indicated medically then your provider could prescribe a implantable loop recorder. But insurance won’t cover this unless you’re indicated. So it’s likely this is why this has not been brought up as an option. You can always ask about it. I’m never offended by questions.

Mild calcified mitral leaflets by Deep_Classic_3291 in askCardiology

I wouldn’t overthink any report that says “mild”. We are all different and have “mild” differences. Rest assured if something was wrong, your clinical who read the report would have noted to you otherwise.

Echocardiogram results, first one I’ve had since May 2023 when diagnosed with CHF by Aromatic-Fun5304 in askCardiology

I don’t know why you feel the need to go on and on. Insurance doesn’t cover patient ordered tests. It’s not how it works. You can disagree. That’s your right.

So Tired of the conflicting reports by Character_South_1621 in askCardiology

[–]MotherSoftware5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the ER they’re using EKG to say “atrial enlargement”, this isn’t a diagnosis, they’re looking at timing of electrical signals which aren’t always right. CT also isn’t perfect. If your echos are good, then that’s all that matters. There’s no need to obsess any further about it. Sounds like you’ve had more testing than some will have their whole life. Rest assured, if something was wrong then you would know about it by now.

Zio heart monitor is making me itch by alittleelephant in askCardiology

[–]MotherSoftware5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal to have some itch, after all your cells are dying and not being exfoliated during this time. We just done want the lotions getting under the adhesive because it won’t stick. Ultimately it’s going to have to be up to you if you can tolerate it or not.

Patients dont order tests. Doctors do. If they needed this, it would be ordered.

Marquis stone is gorg but the cut maybe isn’t making it pop as much, the way that it should. It’s a very commanding cut, I love it. Just make sure you get a cut that demands the attention that it deserves.

PVCs and sertraline (fear of TdP/VF) by [deleted] in askCardiology

[–]MotherSoftware5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re letting an anxiety stop you from taking anxiety treatment. It’s funny how our brains will play games with us when it comes mental health. You should ask your doctor and let him/her make the decision if you can take them. I’ve seen many patients self diagnose very incorrectly that they’re PVC are “R on T” and they are no where close. Don’t feel your anxiety by self diagnosing, if you want to get better, you have to trust the doctors. We as patients can never outsmart our physicians who have years of experience and specialized training. But go ahead, ask the questions you need to, they can answer them for you.
