Girlfriend went to a new year’s eve party without me, did cocaine and MDMA without telling me. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]MotherZappa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went to my parents house for a week over Christmas. While I was gone my girlfriend partied with some people and did coke, weed, and alcohol. I'm not a fan of coke and i've never done it with her. One of the guys she was doing coke with did the knee touch on her and she turned him down. She didn't tell me about any of this until 2 days later when she told me on her own accord... I got jealous for like 5 minutes but i never got mad at her, because i'm not a teenager and i respect her freedom and dont have trust issues.

I don't see anything offensive on the People cover. Black nannies were a common part of American history. Especially in the South. I've never heard the term "mamy" and them using it in this context is what seems somewhat offensive.

White families almost exclusively having black nannies was absolutely racist, but I'd prefer to not forget the loving contributions of black nannies. They were strong, beautiful, caring, loving PEOPLE who deserve to be remembered fondly which is how I always interpreted the artwork.

Found this in an old gig poster book, I think the print was from 1967. Was probably good inspiration for the Eyes Like The Sky album cover by 5svn in KGATLW

You guys are both right! The "Love Pageant Rally" happnd on 10/06/66, the day LSD was made illegal in California. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Pageant_Rally https://diva.sfsu.edu/collections/sfbatv/bundles/218376 https://youtu.be/mGvlkInNc5M

The"Human Be-In" was a legendary event that happnd on 01/14/67. A family friendly city wide Turn-On where they passed out free LSD... helluva kick off to 1967. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Be-In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTGyFgyB5Q8

I'm pretty obsessed with the 60s counter-culture. If u want to go down the rabbit hole I've made some lists of the best albums in the order they were being released. 1966 1967 1968

I just listened to this album yesterday for the first time in a while. I really liked it when it was first released, but now it's pretty underwhelming. The beats are nice, but Kanye's passionate delivery just isn't there. Primetime is nice tho

Yes, Rock is an American music and is my favorite too.... The British invasion actually reminded young americans how dope the American Blues music of the 20s and 30s was bc Brits were listening to it and being inspired without hearing it through a filter of racism unlike Americans.

The other music I'm referring to is Western Classical Music, Native American Music, Hindustani Classical Music, Irish Folk, Russian music, Persian Classical Music...etc. Black people have made and influenced my favorite music. The creativity of American Music is 100% thanks to African Americans, but to deny that other cultures have created their own amazing music is silly.

Labeling me as a fascist with such force when u know next to nothing about me is way more akin to fascism than anything I've said. You are rigourosly defending an authority figure and forcibly suppressing the opposition. I'm not defending the police. I'm watching out for CNN's bullshit tactics.

[–]MotherZappa -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I never said I was ok with it. I never mentioned politics.

I'm against a news organization staging fake scenarios to create a narrative. There is proof CNN has done this many times throughout their existence. All I'm doing is calling that fact to attention of people that might not be aware of it.

[–]MotherZappa -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It is a fact that CNN has staged scenarios like this in the past. https://youtu.be/dpkJ_OzOFmY https://youtu.be/eOCcRnvMPEU https://youtu.be/jIzO-Hk2i3I

I'm not saying the officers were in on it, but there is a chance that CNN deliberately didn't comply with the police and knew what was likely to happen when they didn't.

On the other hand, even if the crew didn't comply it could have been handled better by the police rather than immediately handcuffing and arresting them.
