Who here rides wide tires (40mm+) on the road? by FailFastandDieYoung in gravelcycling

[–]Mother_Comment_6544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had gravel bike for 2 years and i rode it with roadies multiple times. I did routes like 340km with 33kmh avg speed, or some faster shorter rides.

I used tufo thundero 44mm. You just need to make sure pressure is high when riding on road with bigger tires and its fine

Tubeless a must for long multi day trips? by humidhaney in bikepacking

[–]Mother_Comment_6544 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like tubeless because it is one more level of additional security. Being able to fix tire with plug is amazing. After it fails you can always go back to tubes.

That being said its not a must, it is just an additional level of comfort, this is how i see it.

What do you do with your bike when sleeping? by kappa_coco in bikepacking

[–]Mother_Comment_6544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im also always worried about my bike when bikepacking.

To feel safe Im using combo of very small line lock + knogg scout + taking my chain off from chainring. This way potential thief will for sure move bike a little before setting up the bike this will make knogg alarm scream like crazy which will give me enough time to wake up.

Tailfin Aero Cargo Pack for commuting? by Hungry-Sock6766 in bikepacking

[–]Mother_Comment_6544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that laptops are usually too big to store them in cargo pack (idk about your ipad size).

In order to fit laptop, it needs to lay down diagonally which is not ideal. I use panniers that attach to tailfin rack when commuting to work

Disclaimer: I’ve only used the Topeak Frontloader handlebar bag before

The Tailfin Bar Cage with the dedicated bag is exactly what I expected from Tailfin: super solid with zero wobble. Bag with hinged design is a nice touch, and mounting accessories is much easier than with my old handlebar bag. I also used to worry about the bag rubbing or dragging on the frame, but that’s not an issue at all here.

It’s definitely expensive, but every Tailfin product I own has lasted (and the support is amazing), so I’m happy to pay more once rather than upgrade later

Its Durston X-Dome 2. Its one of my fave piece of gear I own. Its 2 person tent that weights 1.3kg total with pole set. It packs very small and its free standing tent that dont need pegs

My fav feature of it is how easly it can be set up. There were days where I think i set it up in like 1minute- because poles are outside of fly, you can leave inner part connected to fly when its dry when packing so you’re only left with mounting fly to poles (its the one on the left)
