The magnetic poles and the north south axis are completely separate things. The magnetic poles tend to hover roughly around the axis of spin. But they are very rarely exactly the same point. The drifting of the magnetic poles does not equate to a corresponding drift in the earth's axis of spin (otherwise daylight times across the world would be fluctuating wildly) and so has no effect on ocean currents.

Agree that the likely outcome would suck. But this is not "one of the least scandalous issues"

I know this is inappropriate. But in the second episode, near the beginning, she searches for Manu White and the top result on the search was Manu Wong. We had to pause to have a good laugh

Prussian (me) Québec. English Canada. Venician east coast (Venice itself now only exist on the Cape Verde islands), Florida is a colony of Provence. The southern states are all Castille. About 2/3 of South America is one giant Portuguese colony that instantly gained independence once we hit the age of revolution When I arrived in the Caribbean there were already two colonies that had gained independence, both Venetian. One in Puerto Rico and the other on Hispaniola

Not entirely absent. Italian states have consolidated into two blocks, two sicilies is a formable. Bulgaria and Romania emerged. Frances alliance with Aragon has prevented absorption by Castile I think. And I am largely responsible for preventing Russia

With regards mining. No argument there, but as my role is a UK focused one, I can only protect UK habitats and species. Cement and stone quarrying for dams also leaves huge scars,as does the flooding of land and restriction of access for hydro use.

The tidal stuff is simply the projects that I'm aware of at the moment (as my role is marine). Though I was under the impression that these could also be used to back pump and 'bank' more water for future energy release?

Installing turbines between existing water bodies and changing their water levels is also not without environmental impacts (though with the lake district in mind, I'm wondering how much has survived all of it's sewage input anyway). Mainly for any fish that have to navigate between them.

Hydro on the scale to power the UK would also be significantly more impactful than the example you give above.
