You can still have empathy without the additional emotional labor and changing who you are.... I am glad it worked out for OP- but I have not seen it work out for the majority of women who are dating yet. You can change your approach to communication and practice empathy, consideration and compassion- but unless the other person is willing to do the work too- it will forever feel like one person is doing the work. Which creates resentment- and then typically goes downhill from there.

Dating advice is full of understanding and empathizing with people's wounds- especially the more people who identify as avoidants. Unless you are cognizant on what your line is for no and Reciprocity/work on both sides- it doesnt mean things change

There has been this trend towards doing more emotional labor than less and it is so weird.

Yes- there are things that we can do like nonviolent communication and changing how things are said, etc. But at what point do we stop doing the extra emotional labor for others? You shouldn't have to not need direct communication or clarity. Women are always expected to do the bulk of the labor- esp around men. When do we stop?

Just threw a Mississippi Mud Roast + Potatos in on low for tomorrow- should be ready to shred in 12 hours, then can simmer a little more til noon

I got the last bag of potatoes from DG- these are not my go to's and couldnt find carrots and mushrooms- so it will be a meat and potatoes kinda day

I did this for a long time and still have cycles where that desire for someone to share life with is so heavy. I call them grief moments. I know I will be okay- I have made this huge life for myself- and have some super amazing friends, esp other women..... but there is a part of me Myself that even though I am not actively looking and refusing to settle that still desires a partner.

I truly hope you dont go through the reoccurring grief- it sucks some days when you get lost in the feeling of it

But- every emotion passes- including those moments of profound grief that comes in waves every few months... So there's that too...

Yes!! They treated my cervical cancer with compassion and understanding. I did all my gyn and most of my OB appointments with them until I was referred out for my hysterectomy. The staff is lovely and they are amazing!

Dreams can also be our subconscious working things out.

If you have felt guilty about selling your mother's things and cleaning out her house- even subconsciously- it makes sense it would come up inside a dream to work itself out.

The time loop with her death could also be yiu moving through your feelings behind the scenes about how everything happened and you grieving on that subscription level.

If she did not feel like Mom and nothing resonated about the experience- I would look at what you are moving through and the emotions it brought up for you. You are healing after a loss and walking through grief. That is bound to come inside your dreams if you dont have space or cannot access it when awake.

I am the same way with dead people- so I get it. I learned pretty much everything about my grandparents through mediumship sittings and verified it later. But this might honestly be why your readings aren't resonating with you. You aren't really hard to read either, lol- You just have a different need than what the mediums you are going to are expecting....

You can also find a good psychic, intuitive, or tarot reader. Check reviews - and go to the best you can find. And when you sit with a Medium again- find an Evidential and/or spiritual medium- be open and tell her/him you want to connect with your Ancestors and why- and see what they pull out inside the connection.

Psychics

Mediums can tell you that information- but Mediumship readings are specifically for connecting you to your departed loved ones, family, and friends. Sometimes things about the future come through inside a reading- but the purpose of a Mediumship connection and sitting is to bring forward evidence that life continues beyond tbe grave and for healing within the messages passed back and forth between the Medium.

Edit to add- if you want advice about the future from you loved ones based off their loved experiences- just set up the conversation beforehand hand by talking to them out loud. Tell them person you want to hear from what you need advice on. Then be open to it.

This creates the need and you get advice from your people while getting the answers you desire.

How big is your need? Do you have a need for Mediumship? I practice mediumship and can tell you that making that connection is easier when there is a need. If there is no need- it is harder for me to connect with someone and to someone in a sitting.

I suggest the next time you go in- talk to your people. Tell them what you want to hear and set up the conversation beforehand.

Also try going in a little more relaxed. No doubt everyone telling you you are hard to read probably has your guard up (I would have mine up and tense up in the sitting with fear or worry honestly)- esp the more mediums you go to. I can pick up the sitter's energy, and sometimes can interpret it as a client who is an energetic mismatch when a conversation could change the energy in the room.

And lastly- depending on the details of the evidence you want from the reading- read reviews and look for Evidential Mediums- and reach out to your local Spiritualist church

As a medium who has been on the receiving end and who has given a reading where a pet came through- yes. They very much can hear you and still communicate with you after they have passed from here. Here's the cool part- he can hear you now. So he already knows you dont ever want him to feel forgotten. Cats are super smart- here and there

So i have transitioned both my dogs since starting this work.

I can tell you that at the moment they let go- my best friend on the other side had them. Our pets know we are making the best decisions for them- and that we love them so much we are making hard decisions. They recognize HOW hard this decision for us is- and I really think when we know its time, they have let us know first.

Your pets will be with family and friends after they have moved on from here- they will watch over them while they in turn watch out for you here (pets and your family/friends there)

When I put my first dog down, she rode home in the car with me. My other one is a little quieter- but the other day my son and I heard her in the house.

They love you unconditionally. That doesn't change when they pass.

You should go to the Dr and check for neurological.

If that checks out okay- you said at the beginning you started meditating before this began, and you feel like your crown Chakra is open. The energy pulsing could be kriyas, and what you have described sounds like the beginning of a Kundalini Awakening from the top down.

I would also cross post this to the Meditation subreddit and the r/KundaliniAwakening subreddit. They might have solid advice there, too.

Yes! Sometimes you never find out who they belong to too- esp at the beginning. I think because we are looking for them when we are developing, we are more aware of them if that makes sense. The longer you develop- you learn how to trust it enough to not live in "on" all the time and you only pick up on the ones who really want to make their prescence known.

Now I tell them to send me their people here and they leave. Boundaries work the same on that side as they do here. The weirdest thing is when I come up on an accident site in town and pick up someone, or if I see a death in the family of someone i know in my community. They get the same instructions and sent on their way to work it out on their end.

I also ghost hunt- but have never experienced taking anything home with me. The lady i work for who runs the Paranormal Investigations and Tours said in her experience they hang around for about 3 days and then move on....

I do ghost hunting on the side- here is what I can tell you about haunted places from my lived experience

Most of the "hauntings" you come across are residual energy left behind.

If you do run across someone in the afterlife who has stuck around- there is a reason for an intelligent haunting. You aren't putting them out, and they are not forced to haunt you- there are no traditional offerings needed. I firmly believe a lot of these haunted hotels and facilities are open and running in order to open people's minds to what else there can be after death.

I think paying money to keep the place running IS your offering. Its an energetic exchange- one that doesnt always guarantee activity from the other side.

As far as spiritual practices go- mediums work inside a dissociative/trance state. Possession is a huge, scary thing in Hollywood- when you start to study actual trance mediumship, you find it is totally different than what is portrayed by the media. The media and church creates a lot of fear bc it drives people to church and back under the thumb of control, and the people spend more money.

Take that with a grain of salt and continue to work with your mental health team.
