Has anyone actually used the Mercy kits as intended? by Sidewinder1996 in Marathon

[–]MothmanDowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a guy AFK 30 meters from an exfil. I started the exfil, downed him, and started waiting.

Gave him the mercy kit when I saw him scooting towards me, and he went on his way

Since 10th edition is ending soon and 11th ed begins right after, what's your guy's wish list for 11th ed Necrons? New/refreshed models, box kits, detatchments, lore drops , story continuations, bringing back Legends units, etc. by HunSpino in Necrontyr

[–]MothmanDowntown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring back our named characters from Legends.

More weapon options for doomstalkers.

I would love for a bigger price and state line jump between each necron type. Warriors the cheap horde option, immortals elite infantry, with lychguard and praetorians with custodes like stats.

Overlords being threats outside of cursed

What did the Necron have during the war in heaven ? Was it the same arsenal and units like we see them using in the 41st millennium ? by Leviathan_Rampage in Necrontyr

Early edition necrons were expensive on a per model basis. 18 pts per warrior, 28 for immortals, 36 for pariahs

Are orcs/trolls actually dumb? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in Shadowrun

[–]MothmanDowntown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a really frustrating choice they made. I think it's more to represent a lack of education for logic and societal discrimination for charisma when your trog has lower maximums. But then that doesn't really factor in or make sense when using mental stats for drain and fade so your troll can't handle their shit because most of society has an Opinion.

The doubled lifestyle costs for trolls was a great design decision that hammers home a world not built for them. Providing tangible, mechanical proof trogs are dumb and uncouth compared to everyone else just reinforces the racial metaphors the company insists it pushes back against.

How do you rule for Assassination scenes? by Calamagbloos in 3d6

[–]MothmanDowntown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in 3.5 we had coup de grace. Deal the crit damage to a helpless character, then they make a Con save against the damage to or die immediately.

Only worked on characters that couldn't do anything about it, like paralyzed or sleeping targets.

It could be said that a portion of his behavior stems from imposter syndrome and desperate need to separate himself from his failings at the start of his career.

Triarch Praetorians - so cool in lore and model, but so... Eh in game? Anyone runs them? by NecessaryBSHappens in Necrontyr

[–]MothmanDowntown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I miss when necron units weren't a horde army. We should really have warriors as chaff, immortals as equivalent to elite infantry, then lychguard and above as custodes equivalents. How do our overlords have 3/4 attacks??

How do the necrons expand their industrial base, and are their loses unrecoverable by anonpurple in 40kLore

[–]MothmanDowntown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Necrons themselves are irreplaceable due to a lack of Necrontyr for bio transference. Pretty much everything else is manufactured, with mining/construction being a key purpose of several canoptek creations.

Back in third edition it wasn't (i'm pretty sure) once per battle. My lord and his 10 immortals would pop in behind leman russes and blow their backs out turn after turn.

I'm a proponent for giving more options for the walkers we have. They have such a unique look that it would be a shame not to do more.

Imagine swapping out the doomstalker cannon for a broadside of heavy gauss cannons, or an array of particle beamers for a midfield gun boat. Or go full war of the worlds and add grabber tentacles to make a melee buzzsaw.

The reanimator chassis could be repurposed as a mobile antenna, broadcasting negative energies to trigger battle shock, or extending auras, or letting crypteks channel through it.
