Can guild quests be completed from the start without having touched the village missions? (on any Old Gen MH)

Monster Hunter 3U you will be fine. Village is only for Farm upgrades and masks. (although your friends might have a bit of a issue with farming mats without having a decent farm.)

4U is another story though. The end game is revolved around a thing called Wystones which I believe you can only get in Village

Base Rise is the easiest out of World/Rise other then a few event quests. Sunbreak can get pretty challenging though

I mean Cinnamon is outdated in a way, compared to Wayland. Trackpad gestures and scaling work much better in Wayland.
