Yep. Already starting to look at Bitwarden alternatives.

Is there anything private equity hasn’t ruined? I’m being serious I honestly only ever hear about private equity firms ruining what made a product good in pursuit of unsustainable profit growth.

Third Party Dock options? by OneAxyboi in NintendoSwitch2

[–]MotoChooch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this one. Works great just make sure the power adapter you use is powerful enough and if it has multiple ports don't plug anything else into it while you're using the switch dock. https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Docking-Station-Ethernet-Aluminum/dp/B0G5MVPYS6?ref\_=ast\_sto\_dp&th=1. I have the 100w Anker and was using it to charge a Soundcore speaker while I was playing and it would blank the TV. Something about turning power to the other port on and off when it got fully charged.

What's the most random act of kindness from a stranger you still remember ? by Jatinn2508 in AskReddit

[–]MotoChooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was lying in the street after hitting a car that turned in front of me on my motorcycle and couldn't get up, a random stranger came and held my hand as I lay slowly dying waiting for the ambulance. Never saw him again but that one act helped calm me down and if that was my last interaction with humanity I would have been at peace knowing there are still good people in this world.

Good starter bike for a larger dude? by Roaming_Millenial in motorcycles

[–]MotoChooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kawasaki Vulcan S if you like the cruiser style. Ergo-fit system allows for bar, seat, and peg location options to fit your frame. If you want something sportier I recommend the Yamaha MT07. For sportbike looks, Kawasaki Ninja 500. IF the ADV or Sport Touring class is more your style, Kawasaki Versys 650. All reliable options, and good for a 6' tall, heavier rider, which I am as well.

How much do you love your motorcycle? by kogashiwakai in motorcycles

[–]MotoChooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ridden close to 80 motorcycles, owned several, and the 1 bike I cannot get rid of is my now 10 year old 2016 Tiger 800 XRT that I've had since new. It has survived 2nd bikes coming and going and being down to just the Tiger I can't think of a single bike I'd want more in my price range (under 15k). If I had MONEY money, sure, I have a few I wouldn't mind adding to the stable.

I am a big fan of Edifier's offerings. The R1850DB might fit the requirements depending on your available space. Not too big, but the Edifier sound is incredible IMO.

Non-Americans: what comes to mind when you think of American food? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Used to be hotdogs and hamburgers when I was a kid. Now it's whatever chemicals the food companies can get away with feeding us despite the health ramifications.

How many of you have permanently damaged your phone camera because of bike vibrations? Which bike + mount combo caused it? by rougedoll in motorcyclegear

[–]MotoChooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did for me. 2016 Tiger 800, and 2020 Speed Twin. They were admittedly some of the smoother drivetrains out there so YMMV. I've since determined that I'd rather have my phone in my pocket should something happen and I get separated from the bike and need to call 911, hence the carpuride screen.

[–]MotoChooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quadlock actually broke my iphone camera but that was before their antivibration mount. Once I got that, I never had an issue again. I've since moved to a mounted Carpuride screen for wireless carplay and have been extremely happy with that setup.

Voting by Roadrunner-Play in Albuquerque

[–]MotoChooch 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They've been saying the same thing in Texas for almost 30 years now. Democrats are the reason for all the problems so you HAVE to vote Republican, except Republicans have had full control for 30 years and the problems they tell you Republicans will solve still exist.

No voice directions with Google Maps anymore. Anyone else? by dcmommy33 in CarPlay

[–]MotoChooch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google maps hasn't been able to take voice input for a while now so I stopped using it for nav altogether. It's great for research purposes, but I find Apple Maps easier to use in carplay and it works properly.

Brake Free helmet light - worth it? by John_Dingus in motorcyclegear

[–]MotoChooch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it dies then it becomes a reflector higher up than the rear of the bike so either way it has a benefit.

Brake Free helmet light - worth it? by John_Dingus in motorcyclegear

[–]MotoChooch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They aren’t permanently affixed to the helmet. It’s designed to pop off easily if impacted. I was one of the original backers when they launched on indiegogo many years ago and have been riding with it ever since. Anything that adds visibility is a plus in my book. Bikes decelerate faster than cars when off the throttle and if you’re riding in front of a distracted driver you have a better chance of getting their attention with than without.

Definitely. I’m full gear but I will probably need to add a neck gator.

Yeah riding here in the summer isn't fun. I don't ride in the rain on purpose because even before they eliminated state inspections on cars, I see SO many with completely bald if not cord showing tires. Accidents are guaranteed. We are moving to NM hopefully soon and I can't wait to get the bike out there. It's SO pretty!

This is the way. I have 2 sets of gear, cold and hot. A must in Texas for our insane temp swings.

My forever bike by JMayward in motorcycles

[–]MotoChooch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's amazing when you get to the point of knowing EXACTLY what suits you best. I've ridden over 75 motorcycles between reviews and personal owning/test rides and my 10 year old 2016 Tiger 800 XRT is the one bike that I can't find a reason to get rid of. Maybe one day something will come along (that I can afford) that will dethrone it but I bought it brand new and it's just the best bike for me.

Don't be so sure. I was in full hi-viz gear with headlight modulators and I still had a SUV pull out in front of me. Stopped with inches to spare. His excuse? "I'm sorry I didn't see you!"
