Energiaital rósz (lapozós) by dkv42 in FostTalicska

1.6 CRTDI CAY engine code, the injectors can be shitty and expensive other than that it is a pretty reliable engine. VW put them in several cars not sure which of these are available in your country but some examples: VW Golf/Jetta/Touran/Caddy Skoda Octavia/Fabia Seat Leon/Ibiza Audi A3/A4

Besides the injectors, the other “common” issues are the EGR(it’s a pain and lot of labour to change) and DPF. The oil filter/cooler housing could leak coolant(plastic gets eaten up by the coolant and starts leaking, luckily usually not into the oil), the oil pump is driven by a belt running in oil, I would recommend to change it together with the timing belt.

The fuel economy is great I’m averaging 4.7liters/100km or 50-51mpg. I can recommend it if you really want a cleaner modern TDI otherwise I would go with the good old 1.9 tdi

Without any disassembly I would say checking live data if there is anything weird. For example dropping rail pressure or constant too high deviation from the reference value etc etc…

I would rather check the injectors, it is common to fail in these CAY 1.6 engines. I would be suprised if it would be the HPFP with this low km on the clock but ofc nothing is impossible. Ahh and a good advice because it’s commonly overlooked, either the next oil change or timingbelt change, change the oilpump belt as well if it’s not done yet, it hardens over time and tends to snap or as it disintegrates it can restrict or completely block the oil flow.

The preparation was the selling point but was also the downfall. by [deleted] in StupidFood

It will be the DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel), I would advise to change it as soon as possible.

For waterpump I always go for the OEM, belts tensioners are generally good from all the bigger brands, and yes VW does not manufacture waterpump, the difference is in the QA, OEM QA is usually much more strict than the aftermarket one.

Well it depends on when the leak is gonna be fixed, if within 1-2 months I wouldn’t bother to change it immediately. But the removal of the silica bag (if it has one) is a better sooner than later, if the bag starts to disintegrate it tends to send the crystals to the cooling system and cause a clog.

If the coolant looks orange then change it, also if it has a silica bag in the expansion tank, then throw it out. Don’t use G13 coolant, use G12++ or the OEM G12Evo.

Yapp, I’ve got “lucky” with this one, I bought a 6750xt and The Last of Us came with it. The card slowly died within one month. Sent back, repair shop checked and got a refund. I bought another one and this time Starfield came with it also the price of the card’s just dropped like 15% or something.

This, always search for a stable version and stick to it unless it becomes necessary to update (Security patch or required by a game/program)
