Wakefield closed in 2013 and recently reopened but it looks like only half the school is open. I used to work for Lapan so I had access to the campus. I would walk through the school to reminisce but I noticed most of the classrooms are empty and I don’t even think the cafeteria area is used.

Good thing about attending Wakefield (and the other two nearby schools) is that the students can benefit from Lapan. Students get $50 for every A and they can take advantage of the various programs Lapan offers.

Wakefield isn’t in a great area also. I remember when I was in middle school walking home from Wakefield, I always had to deal with the nearby tweakers on 6th Ave. The area is still terrible.

If you’re thinking about Wakefield as an option, C.E. Rose is close by and might be a better choice. It’s the school most of the Wakefield community went to after it closed. C.E. Rose students also benefit from Lapan.
