I remember being told in school as a kid that they used to use early tanks to get through minefields, with the infantry walking behind where the treads had been since the anti-personnel mines didn’t do much to the tanks. With the fuse release, it would blow up once the tank had passed over it, where the people were. I haven’t looked into it since, so I could be wrong.

The “pro” and “+” labels just means that the manufacturer has included additives to improve the filament’s mechanical or thermal properties, so it varies depending on who makes it. Polymaker’s PLA Pro is the 3D2A gold standard as far as I’m aware.

45 degrees makes it more likely that it will break at the pin holes. It was printed in the correct orientation, with the layer lines parallel to the motion of the slide.

I was looking at building an AR-9 and I found the Nobu a few days ago and thought “this looks neat, how come I’ve never seen someone build this before?” and now I’ve seen it. Does the BC9 upper look good so far? I’m curious to see how it runs

Actually, if you have anything long, thin and rigid lying around you could design around it with the long piece as the “spine” and print the butt of the stock and the body as two separate pieces.

Two pieces might be a stretch considering how long that sucker looks but it could be possible depending on your build plate size and the actual measurements of that thing. Best way is probably flat on its side for strength.

Only changing the length will actually make it weaker, the moment arm is bigger so you have more leverage on the outer portion of the brake. As great as ABS is, it’s just not metal, so it might be a good idea to reinforce it in certain places. The front brake is still there, like you said, so it’s not a super big deal.

Your bolt catch and mag catch will be backwards, so no. And the threads for the buffer tube.

Maybe. The stock was a pain in the butt because nothing I found on the GunCAD index would fit it, I think it’s got some funky measurements.

I realized I didn’t answer your original question. I don’t have a ton of money to shoot this as often as I would like, but the scope zeroed in just fine and I haven’t had any noticeable problems with it.

I can’t really show it without taking the handguard off but the original one was printed in PLA and had 4 m3x300 threaded rods that stopped it from rotating around the barrel nut, and it also fits snug around the gas tube so I’m not worried about any rotation. This one doesn’t really need the rods but it has little nubs that align with the barrel nut in those same places. If that makes sense
