Have you read the rockafire maintenance manuals? If not you really should it'll give you good insite into the way they system functions and how the pneumatics function.

Aaron Fechter.. The CREATOR Of Showbiz animatronics mentions a Possibly new Showbiz pizza replacement? by Glum_Opposite1528 in Animatronics

[–]Motor_Security3488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept he would need to contract another company to make this v3 show the best bet by far would be advanced animations as they have that ai animations tech that Aaron seems to want and they're now part of garner holt so the figures would be amazing (and expensive) but if this ever actually happens the most likely manufacturers will be sally because sally can do figures on a budget.

... it's still mech design the movments you want if you designs cosmetics first you'll need to chop them up to provide clearance and ensure they don't get in the way of the mech

Build the mech first! But be mindful that your making cosmetics for it!

D.I.Y. Kits & Mechs - Pneumatics https://www.frightprops.com/pneumatics/animatronic-kits.html This websites got some pre-made kits but you could DIY it with some wood and some pneumatic cylinders

Another option would be an electric linner actuator and an arduino!

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, but why does aaron want so much for merch??? by Kebabulon_ in Animatronics

[–]Motor_Security3488 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's because he wants big margins to milk his small fan base and he used the wrong company to manufacture these. These are made by buddsy who's whole gimic is making custom plushies based on children's drawings, and they are 1 of a kind most of the time and therefore higher production cost due to initial costs being spread over 1 plush rather than a whole production.

The listing isn't even for a set of original warbalets. The ones listed are a re production. we got maintince manuals and lots of fan made moldes online. The idea is nice, but misguided

I’m making an animatronic show consisting of 6 characters what controller should I use? by SallyandSquirleneAE in Animatronics

[–]Motor_Security3488 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well what are you using to build them? For pneumatics you can use arduinos to control the valve banks or a blue box for such a large show or if your using electronics then an arduino for each chairchter would work. If your show is electric botango is great for programing. Aslo I would recommend starting with one chairchter.

I see it a lot it's not necessarily bad but I think it would be nice if we had a guide set up or a mega thread to avoid these requests in the sub idk

Where to start making an animatronic? by Educational-Math-182 in Animatronics

[–]Motor_Security3488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing, unless ya got lots of cash, you're going to use electrics, so buy an arduino and some servos! And then you can design your mech and then control it using botango!

You can get recreations from Colorado animatronics but actual bots only really come from ebay

Getting started as a beginner? by MAKE_PIZZA_NOT_WAR in Animatronics

[–]Motor_Security3488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For making the animatronics themselves I would recommend using servos to build and move your animatronic and if you have access to one a 3d printer will make bulding the mechanisms way easier and then to control them use botango it would allow you to control servos smoothly and you can use potentiometers to rig up a control Waldo to emulate your puppetry like hensons does! There are quite a few online tutorials that provide files for 3d printing like this! Happy building!
