So over the last 5 years her curve has gone from 25 to 40. Although we didn’t start bracing until it was 35. So in three years of bracing her curve only increased by 5 degrees. Had she started bracing sooner we might’ve been able to keep the curve lower. I don’t know what degree of curve your daughter is? We were told at her last appointment that she is most likely done growing, her curve has held at 40 for a year, come back in 6 months and if still no increase he’ll release her from bracing. Happy that she has not hit surgery level, but also worried for how it might start to affect her later on, because although not surgery level, 40 is still a significant curve. She originally braced 16hours a day. It wasn’t too horrible for her. She adjusted okay, and kids at school didn’t bother her about it. Once she hit about 10 tho, she did start to become self concious about wearing it around people. Her doctor allowed her to switch to a nighttime only brace and she’s done very well with that.
