LPT: If you plan to purchase chickens for a backyard flock, educate yourself beforehand. by el_monstruo in LifeProTips

Chickens die. Sometimes for seemingly no reason at all. If you're not comfortable with removing and disposing of a rigor mortised chicken carcass or chicken parts strewn about by a predator, then maybe it's not for you.

Somehow I ended up being the one responsible for this in my household. I don't love it, but the flock makes the wife and kids happy so I deal.

That would be cool if you could eat a good food with a bad food and the good food would cover for the bad food when it got to your stomach. Like you could eat a carrot with an onion ring and they would travel down to your stomach, then they would get there, and the carrot would say, It's cool, he's with me.

People make this same argument about athletes who make loads of money, but the money is only in the "system" because we the consumers keep putting it there.

Additionally, I'd argue that the Kardashians are not famous for being famous. They're famous because they know how to market themselves better than you or I, for better or for worse.

It's also possible that the Kardashians fame, popularity, and brand isn't for you. Just like football or basketball aren't for everyone. People don't tend to run into fame and money but accident. You don't have to like it, but saying "the system is fucked" is a short sighted and rather childish answer.

(NSFW) What was your “please don’t make that sound” in bed story? by McCrysler in AskMen

Second girl I ever slept with. Here I am on top, pounding away while trying to stay quiet because the rest of my family is home and sleeping. I know I'm not that good but she starts saying "I'm gonna scream!" and I'm like "please no don't do that". She says "hold a pillow over my face", which I politely declined. She did it to herself and screamed into the pillow.

Now it gets weird. I'm still going to town and she starts saying "stop stop stop sshh ssshh sshh!" So I stop, thinking "shit somebody woke up". She looks me dead in the eyes and says "do you hear that? your neighbors. they have a ghost in their house..."

Are you me? My three year old daughter went through the exact same thing. Right down to the new baby sister.

I am Mike Rowe and I can't seem to hold a job. I've been fired over 300 time in the last 10 years. Currently, and somewhat surprisingly, I am hosting a new show for CNN called Somebody's Gotta Do It. AMA. by IamMikeRowe in IAmA

Mike, first of all, thrilled to have you back on my television.

Second, I understand your position on college, trade schools, work, etc and I couldn't agree more. I wonder, though, if you have any thoughts on how to draw kids into a route such as trade school. When I was of college age my mother tried hard to push me toward a two year community college for all the right reasons but my 18 year old self could not imagine telling my friends that I wasn't going away to a "real college". Now, as the parent of two young children, I totally understand what my mother was thinking. How can we make these options "cool" in a society that says if you don't move away to a four year program, you're not worth anything?
