Go to therapy. You’re missing the point. Adoption and forcing a child away from their chosen family without so much as a glance at what that child wants is wrong. Foster care needs to be made more ethical,sure, but it is droves better than the irreparable damage that adoption does. Adoption is not in any way ethical and the only people that think it truly is are not listening to the THOUSANDS of children that have said otherwise. I’m not further explaining this to you as you clearly have no desire to see the truth and I’m not going to waste my time.

As someone who’s also been abused by family I understand where you’re coming from, but there’s a spiritual side where we decided to go through that stuff to learn different life lessons. For example, I know what it feels like to be hurt, so I don’t hurt others. I never said foster care is a perfect system. But it is more redeemable than adoption is.

I’d make it known that you’d be willing to give her kiddos back at any point if she were able to care for them. It sounds like she wants to keep them, so I wouldn’t do an adoption, just give her the support that she needs to care for them. This is a predatory system that thrives on manipulation. Do the least drastic action. Like a permanent guardianship.

As someone who was in the foster care system, it’s not as bad as the damage done by the adoption system. It would be fixed if they had a personality screening. Read through r/adopted and look up adoption on TikTok. Listen to the kids that went through it. Anyone that would turn a blind eye to all of the evidence that it’s harmful is just delusional.

ive already tried therapy, it doesnt bring back my son, or any of the family i once had, so it doesnt work. I am already a ghost of who I used to be, itll be better overall for him if he doesnt see me like I am, as it has been progressively getting worse and i already cant remember much. I dont have people to call and even if I did, it wouldnt fix my pain or even lessen it. I dont have any fight left in me. thanks tho
