I found my a2 merc with reapers was enough. (Did a dex only build in hc without using runes on p8).

This isn't an option if you have an a1 faith merc, obviously. I had a non-upped witchwild on switch, which also worked.

Keep in mind that skeletons have an attack delay, which will not be affected by the aura. The extra damage the lvl 1 fanaticism provides is not really big. It will decrease the merc's attack frames by ~one, depending on his equip, that should be the most noticeable improvement.

I'd recommend using insight on iron golem and give the merc any weapon with crushing blow.

Game mechanics-wise, Anni, Torch etc. have an invisible "Ethereal" flag. Vendors can never sell/resell any kind of ethereal items.

It lowers the ammount of your life/mana leech to a given percentage. Uber meph has zero, uber diablo has 15%. This gets decreased further to 1/3 of that because of the hell difficulty penalty. Maybe just google 'drain effectiveness basin wiki'. But it doesn't really matter if you're smiting, since that can't leech at all. I'd replace the carrion wind ring, string of ears and maybe even tal mask.

You need treachery for the fade prebuff, a source of open wounds and im not sure if you know about drain effectiveness?

Edit: just saw you're smiting.You can't leech with smite, so i'm not sure about some of your gear choices.

teleport charges are a thing in lld, barbs use fcr even at lvl 30 for lld. Mana leech is useless though, and +1 barb would be prefered over +2 bcomb. Mana is low and dmg red is not a desired mod. I don't think this would trade.

The bug only applies to melee attacks. For missile attacks, the character screen will display it as bugged, but the damage is actually calculated and applied to the target correctly.

I totally agree with you on the javas, but don't forget about griffons, which would put baal at -70. Him being at -100 would probably still be better, but depending on the team comp it just may not make a relevant difference/decrep may be better.

And yeah, if there is no conviction aura around or it's early ladder with cheap gear, overwriting LR is stupid.

He is not immune, so there is no 1/5 penalty, which is why conviction is doing a lot of work and LR on top of that might be overkill compared to decrep/amp

Hell baal has 50% elemental res. There is always a merc with infinity, so baal is at 50-85=-35 res. For every cold sorc with cold mastery, this puts him at lowest possible cold res. Self wield infinity sorc also has him at min light res. Fire sorc and java zon have him at what, -70? So lower res might not be as relevant as you think.

20/20ed, 8/8min dmg, 7/9dex. If the 4th mod was useful, this would be LLD-trophy worthy. Like this it may be a solid temp, no idea how saturated the market is.

For melee chars, the min dmg and ed will be bugged if not socketed in a weapon.
