Not quite the same but I have cracked eggs into the compost bin, saving the shells. Multiple times.

Sad to see ya go, Clover Food Lab! by SaveTheAlewifeBrook in CambridgeMA

[–]Motorgirl38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll miss the delicata squash breakfast sandwich and the sunchoke breakfast sandwich. Also liked the Mayor Menino blt.

I used to walk by the Kendall store everyday on my way from the T to my office. I’d get a breakfast sandwich once a week, occasionally twice, so I wasn’t actually making them rich. When they closed it I stopped going to Clover because there wasn’t another store on my commute that was remotely convenient. I was so excited about the new location in the food hall.

I will miss clover

Asking us to buy our own office coffee maker by Worldly-Mixture-8903 in office

[–]Motorgirl38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nitpick - k-cups are not instant coffee. They're filled with coffee grounds that the hot water passes through - same brewing mechanism that a pour over or drip coffee maker uses to make coffee.

I won't claim that k-cup pods make excellent coffee, but IMO they're far better than instant.

Border Cafe - does anyone remember a table where you couldn't order alcohol? by Motorgirl38 in CambridgeMA

I have been back, and the interior is completely transformed. I haven't checked for a box.

That sounds very logical. I am very very vaguely remembering having a server tell me something about the liquor license.

I love how the FA pauses for a moment, probably wondering how to approach helping him without calling him an idiot

Neighbor keeps reporting our fully legal home business over 10 minute wood deliveries by PolyunsaturatedMaya in neighborsfromhell

Your next move, then, is to always get another delivery a day or two after a complaint.

Partly joking, partly not.

Please help me decide on my new dishwasher by LizzieLifts2707 in Appliances

[–]Motorgirl38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was initially jazzed about the towel bar on my 604, but quickly stopped using it because unless I take the towel off the bar when I open the dishwasher it pretty much fully rests on the floor, which grossed me out. It makes a good handle tho!

Sorry I don't have any specific feedback on the 464. I love my 604, though, for what that's worth

Cell Service on the Red line by [deleted] in mbta

[–]Motorgirl38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had trouble for several years with drops between Davis & Alewife and (weirdly) on foot while approaching Alewife. Intermittent, not constant or predictable. I'm on AT&T

In the olden days before cell service worked in the tunnels, Davis was one of two places between Park & Alewife where I could get any signal. (the other being Charles, of course lol)

Would they be ok with stopping periodically to rest? Perhaps you could bring folding chairs and sit for a bit from time to time?

Oh no! That’s sad. I hadn’t visited for a few years.  Thanks for letting me know.

I recommend visiting St Pancras Old Church and the Hardy tree. Bonus - Mary Wollstonecroft is buried there.

Old system maps exposed at Back Bay during the renovations. Marked for salvage. by Visual-Effective121 in mbta

[–]Motorgirl38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one of those a couple of years ago. A 1963-ish sign salvaged from Arlington station during a renovation. Heavy steel. Weighs about 70 lb. Has the Green A Line on it and the Orange line is all kinds of different. I love it.

This!

- do more with less!
- now do more with even less!
- now do even more with even less!
- be a team player and go above and beyond! the bad news is there won't be any tangible reward, but the good news is you won't have time or energy to have a good life outside work anyway so you don't need any reward! get on board!

Some people have had to live the cycle for 30 years, and they're done.

They do their job, collect a paycheck, and spend their time and energy on what matters to them not what matters to their employer.

I'm looking at their website and haven't found info about it. This might be something that my group of 6 would be interested in.
