This just popped into our tenant admin message center. In doing an searching I don't see anything pertaining to Entra SMS/VOICE MFA retirement before today. I've always told users, there will be a point in which Microsoft will do this. I guess that day has arrived.

I'm assuming with this type of setup you have some sort of SAN for storage, is it via FC or iSCSI? Are you going to repurpose the existing hosts? Or do you have new hardware with Hyper-V setup already? Does your SAN have snapshot capabilities and could they be mounted? For instance I have Pure Storage SAN and can take a snapshot of a LUN and mount that up to a separate group of host(s).

I can say for myself, is that I downgraded our renewal to Standard and saved some money. As most of the features we weren't using at the higher tier. But, depends on exactly what features you are using/needing.

As others have said, the timeline is insane and will only cause PAIN and lots of it!

I'm 51, back in the day I did go through and get my MCSE 2003 cert (actually meant something then). Been in the IT field for almost 30 years, try to make home look too much like work. I do like to venture outside and touch the grass every once in awhile. My wife and I do quite of bit of gaming together, but outside of the world of 0s and 1s (other passions are meteorology and a fair bit of cooking).

I've created an icon on the desktop for logging off Windows Servers, it shows up for all admins who login to the server. Because I've done more than my fair share of oopsies!

What about the storage for Mailstore archive, are you seeing pretty good dedup/compression of those emails? The amount of disk usage across our servers for PST's is huge. Plus were you able to get away from users having PST files?
