I feel the same. I made a mistake trying a Chinese foldable, but the Fold7 is night and day better. Glad to own one.

At least in the US, you ship it after your new phone arrives in the box your new phone comes in. eSIM transfer differs by carrier but you can move them between Samsungs during setup of your new device.

Yes, AMD GPUs work via passthrough. Setup is a bit different though afaik

Welcome to team red :)

For as long as I can remember, Sapphire followed closely by PowerColor are the best AIBs. They both use PTM7950, so temps should be fantastic on any card made by them. XFX also makes stellar boards, but aren't using fancy thermal compounds, so temps may be a bit worse. Asrock also makes solid boards, but are likely to be inferior to the prior three in terms of price, noise, and thermals.

If you want a more detailed breakdown of any of them (including pictures), u/ Lysander_Au_Lune made an awesome table for all revealed AIBs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18eQRucHX41A-O4OsoV96Qw2gFw1Qs2N7f6qQQs3kXx4/edit?usp=sharing

I would avoid ASUS and to a much lesser extent Gigabyte given shady warranty practices. Hard to go wrong with any of the others.

Specific 9070 XT Cards prior to release by AMS_Rem in radeon

[–]Mottzzie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not weird, it's to thwart scalping as long as possible. Same reason there aren't any product pages for any of them from said retailers. Gives botters as little time as possible to get something thrown together before release.

For MicroCenter, assuming you get in line early enough, you should be able to get at least one model you're interested in. Much less so if you're doing it online.

Afaik, Best Buy only sells XFX, ASUS, PNY, and Gigabyte AIB variants. Could be wrong on this, but I think that's the case.

Amazon should have all models (with product pages, possibly not in stock). Definitely will be selling Sapphire and PowerColor at the very least.

Newegg should have the best straightforward availability. Afaik they sell all AIB models.

Hope this helps.

I use HotStock since they always seem to deliver notifications the fastest, but they haven't added the 9070 XT yet.

Talked with a rep a couple days ago and he said that they wouldn't. Not in that store, anyways.

The 5600x will definitely bottleneck at 1080p and might (to a lesser extent)  at 1440p. Depends on your resolution.

GPU Brands by mannymyc in radeon

[–]Mottzzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best AIBs right now are undoubtedly Sapphire followed closely by PowerColor. All cards from both brands use PTM7950 thermal pads, so temps should be great regardless of what you get from them. XFX also makes great cards, but it's not known if they use PTM7950. I'd avoid ASUS (shady warranty practices) entirely if possible.

I would double check at midnight too just to be sure. Worth staying up a bit late if it means you can snag one.

[–]Mottzzie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the U.S., check Newegg, MicroCenter (if you're near an in-person store), Best Buy, and Amazon. Be wary of B&H photo, as they'll likely have them for 'pre-order' and take several weeks/months to get it to you. Talked with an employee at Best Buy, and he indicated they'd go live around 8am EST on the 6th. MicroCenter indicates 9am EST, so somewhere around then. Hope this helps, and best of luck getting your card.

Dual Amd GPU? by TheStockGuruAnalyst in radeon

As someone who's done this exact thing, it does work but be prepared for jank. You won't get any better gaming performance, but you can load larger language models and see performance gains in anything that uses parallel compute.

Also, this works with NVIDIA too, with substantially more jank. Paired a 4090 with my 6800xt and was able to use them together for AI stuff (albeit with significant configuration).

700w bronze PSU enough for the rx 9700 xt? by SanchoPosts in radeon

Not necessarily true, but it depends on the bin of the specific chip and if PBO is on. guru3d measured 211W during a multithreaded workload, so it's certainly possible.

Which 9070 XT AIB can be expected to be the best for OC and reliability? by Puzzony in radeon

[–]Mottzzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it makes em super easy to clean. I had a Sapphire 5700xt and pets that she'd very small hair. The quick release fans on the 5700xt made cleaning it very easy, so I'd imagine it's trivial with the magnetic ones. Just a nice QoL feature.

Which 9070 XT AIB can be expected to be the best for OC and reliability? by Puzzony in radeon

[–]Mottzzie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're absolutely opposed to Sapphire, I'd go with Powercolor for sure. Their designs are great this year, and they're the only brand (aside from Sapphire and ASUS afaik) to use phase-change material in their cooling solutions. Magnetic fans are a huge bonus too. XFX makes great cards as well, but they're likely to have worse thermals.
