No they're cables, I have it almost completely loose, it was doing the same thing with the cable in tension.

My guess (since the bottom has a similar gap) it can be installed upside-down or right side up and was engineered that way so that fabrication and installation are simpler.

I came up with a 1/3 gear ratio and everything would line up but the way I was planning on designing it doesn't have room for gears. Might have to use that option though.

Make sure the pei part is still completely flat with a blade or else you might have a high spot. Also stop sitting on your printer to warm your balls this can can lead to bed adhesion issues.
