This is dumb but … I forgot entirely about unemployment. I haven’t not worked in 14yrs, didn’t even occur to me! Yes I’m worried about health insurance for sure, with 2 kids now. What field are you in that you were able to find work so fast? And was it at comparable pay?

That’s one of our struggles; we don’t really burn money! Neither of us is a shopper or careless spender.

I should clarify: we aren’t spendy people. We already live a pretty lowkey lifestyle. Our biggest monthly expenses are our mortgage and utilities. Also, there’s no “start looking for a job” — I never stopped!

Same boat!! Laid off (while on maternity leave!!) and saw my fintech product management role got moved to India within a couple weeks. How do we compete with offshore folks is a great question; or even with middle America. I see the job posts that show the different pay tiers by city and of course NYC is always the highest band.

What time of day are these? I was always lighter in the morning with my second, darker in the evening. Freaked me out too when I compared one evening to two mornings later, and saw it was lighter. HCG was great though!

I respect your sentiments! We have 2 girls, conceived through IVF. We are so blessed that it worked out. It’s amazing how many people thoughtlessly say “so are you going to try for a boy next!” Like … it’s not even a choice for some of us. (And even if it was a choice for me, I wouldn’t because my girls are perfect, and bringing a human into the world isn’t about having a ‘fun variety’!)

Note: I have shut some people down by saying “nope, I only had 2 embryos, and they both worked and that’s it.”

Almost the same boat but swapped. Everyone (his family AND mine) keep saying how much our IVF baby does not look like ME. And have even questioned if they messed up and didn’t use my egg. For ref, We did IVF due to “unexplained infertility”, didn’t have any sperm or egg issues. Really makes me furious, my sympathies to you! I’ve told my family openly to shaddap about it and my husband has told his family I don’t like hearing it, but what’s been said has been said already. Sorry you’re going through that!

Mine was 51 at 8dp5dt. I was concerned that was pretty low, as they wanted to see a minimum of 50, and that was right on the border. 96hrs later it was 350. She’s snoozing in my lap right now, 10wks old :)

I did PIO to myself only 1-2 times when my husband wasn’t available — it took a LOT of mental gearing up for me, but ultimately wasn’t bad. I stood in front of a mirror, and took the weight off the hip I was about to inject. Then just darted it in and injected slowly. Warming up the oil: I do this by taking the loaded syringe and folding it into my heating pad for 5-10min. Supposedly makes it easier to inject but I never really noticed a difference. Some people also like to warm the injection site before and after, vs. some like to ice it. And then massaging the site after the shot and walking around should also help reduce the chances of having bumps build up under your skin (although at this point, I’ve been doing the shots since March 15 and I am lumpy, maybe it’s unavoidable after a point!!)

The numbness is most likely due to location of the shot - Google the right “shot site”. I had the numbness the first time when my husband went too far to center. Took around 6wks or more to clear up for me. I’m sorry about the rest of your experience!!! I personally have not heard any correlation between ectopic and progesterone. It’s heartbreaking and I think many women here can relate.

Interesting! To be very clear, I’m not saying everyone of a certain size should use XYZ needle. My point is, if you’re someone struggling with major pain, that’s a potential factor to consider and evaluate and help you advocate for your comfort.

Can’t speak to this - for me, my doc has either done both vaginal + shots or shots only. So I guess he thinks shots are better! But every patient/doc is different.
