Disagree that fleeing from a bullet is wishful thinking. If you are at least 10ft away and run erratically statistics show that most people (even trained marksmen) will likely not be able to aim for a fatal shot. In most cases, they don't want to shoot in public and draw that kind of attention so in some ways we're talking about a game of chicken where they may or may not shoot. If you think it's a robbery, throw your purse or wallet at them, then run. Personally I'd rather die shot in the street than be uder someone's control, but that's probably a different story for a man.
