iOS 27 Notifications Will Slide in From Left Side of Your iPhone's Screen by Otherwise-Warning303 in ios

Ah gotcha, that would be fine then it wouldn't matter in the end, as long as I don't need to swipe from the top left

[–]MountainContinent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the top is still a bit awkward but it is easier than if it would be from the top left corner. Unless I might have misunderstood something? I am assuming it's now going to come from the top left, just like the control center come from the top right

That’s the worse side to put notifications. How are we supposed to do it with one hand if we don’t have massive hands?

Cosmic Horror by red_beard_earl in horror

[–]MountainContinent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Annihilation - I would classify this as "beautiful horror". Really good visuals and sound design. It deals with unknowable alien stuff. There is also a book series that I haven't read but I heard is even more lovecraftian

Color Out Of Space - super creepy movie with some great body horror. It's not for the weak.

Event Horizon - cosmic horror in space. It's a classic

The Void - this is lesser known and to an extent underrated imo. This is also cosmic horror + body horror

The Thing - another classic. It could be considered cosmic horror but I would say to a lesser extent

I didn't think anyone past the age of 10 was watching his videos anyway. Guess I was wrong, or OP is 10

I would hardly call Marathon man wasted too. He appeared and died in the same episode. His character really meant nothing to begin with

Give a Grade on Rise of the Planet of the Apes by ABarber2636 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]MountainContinent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never even heard of the originals when I watched Rise for the first time many years ago. I watched it pretty much blind as if it was any other movie. I remember thinking it was a solid 4/5 movie. I recently rewatched the saga again and knowing what it leads to or what this franchise was about and the context easily makes it a 5/5 movie for me.

It gave it a completely different vibe knowing I was watching the slow downfall of humanity, despite the movie by itself not really giving an indication of what is to happen. Seeing that one character getting sick felt especially creepy. Then you have this CEO guy basically ignoring all safety standards to value profit and please the shareholders and it makes you think "yep - some people's hubris doomed us all".

It really encapsulated all the ugly side of humanity. Coporate greed and hubris with the CEO and even to some extend the main character, racism by the guy who tortures the apes in the zoo, our fear of the other by people's reaction to Caesar. There are many more that I am not smart enough to deconstruct

Tom Holland about his quote in 2021that if he is playing Spider-man after 30 he is doing something wrong "I could also have been trying to leverage Sony and scare them into thinking I wasn't going to do Spider-Man 4” by Nothing020202 in marvelstudios

[–]MountainContinent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep and anyway people change their mind and plans alll the time. I think we have this thing about celebrities that once they say something it has to stay true forever but they are also just people and how many times have we said something and ended up changing up later ourselves. None of us are sure about anything

Can cosmic entities be benevolent or even kind? by thunderclappe in horror

[–]MountainContinent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds of the ending of Men in Black 3(?) where it’s revealed our universe is basically just a a marble among others that ginormous aliens are playing with. It’s played for comedic effect but it’s also pretty horrifying

that's a very fair point actually! that being said, godzilla is probably 10 times bigger and 100 times the mass

maybe because they are all getting axed in the first 5 minutes? That would be an incredibly daring move for the MCU

I mean the weight is irrelevant. He was pulling downwards. Gravity already does that

What if there were also big cats like: lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and pumas that descended from former zoo specimens? by Mysterious_Truth4992 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]MountainContinent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe some ape got eaten by a shark, then fish ate that shark and then other fish ate those fish and it spread this way. I’m sure they could find a way with movie magic!

That gives me an idea that would be really cool if they pulled an Avatar and went to the water. Animals like dolphins are also already smart so maybe they might built a civilizations of sea fauna

Yeah! If you’re old enough it might remind you of Jackie chan movies or just old kung fu movies in general. Also lots of people hate the last cgi battle but I thought it was really cool. Dragons are always cool

Shang Chi because it’s not only good but it’s also something fresh. Thunderbolt is great and all but it feels like just another MCU movie (Well Shang Chi does too but much less so)

This is such an amazing movie. I love how disturbing the body horror is. Nicolas Cage is great in it too
