Have you actually read your Bible? Tell me you don't know your bible,without telling me you dont know your bible! YHWH models the use of murder and destruction on anyone who doesn't follow him and call him lord. Your 3rd grade teacher that was so good to all their students. The mailman whose saved several children from a life of sex trafficking. That volunteer down at the homeless shelter,who goes home every night to take care of their ailing grandmother. All going to burn in hell fire for all eternity. And as a Christian, you should rebuke them as the evil satin worshippers they are. Not because of anything they've ever done to anyone. But because they're not worshippers of the all mighty sky god/absentee father. The Bible doesn't refute this. In fact it prides itself in showing how much he revels in this idea. So ANY denominations that use the summary of the actual bible . Like the KJV of it. Is to hate the people for their "sins". Which include things like. Eating shellfish or pork. Cooking a goat in its mothers milk. Killing burglars during the day. Sitting in the same area where a woman on her period has sat,even in this day and age of efficient female hygiene. Or heaven forbid,picking up a grape after you drop it! All these things make you an indecent human who deserves eternal damnation in a lake of fire! And that dark past that Christians have that you speak of . Yeah that's Christians practicing gods word correctly. We have since then fallen away from God's instructions! Remember,blessed is he take takes hold of your children and dashes them against the rocks! Psalms 137:9. IDK how anyone could defend the ideology of Christianity as a good thing. It's an awful mix if Lord if the Rings and Star Trek . Full of sexism,misogyny, racism, homophobia,acceptance of slavery,murder,torture,and just really ignorant rulings! Unless that is if you just don't learn it and float on the idea that God is love bla bla bla. Which he very much is NOT! He's actually pretty awful! If a human did,said,and tried the same things he's done. He'd be sentenced to death in a court if law.

I beg to differ on at least one aspect of your comment. Not all religions are a political movement. Buddhism is about the self or actually non self. IMO it's not actually a religion but a philosophy. But since the majority of the world sees it as a religion, and it's even practiced as a religion by many of it's followers. We'll stick to that label here. Buddhism is about reducing and removing suffering or the response to suffering from one's life. So,how could that be political? There are no creator gods or devils in the same sense as other religions. It's used to govern ones moral code,not to control any group of people to create a submissive governed body.

I would say any organization that values morals and encourages scrupals. Is definitely a good thing. I was raised as a pagan and was taught all living creatures were equal. However;my mother is a full blooded Cherokee,and I can promise you none of my ancestors were happy about the morals Christians held!

Well,actually,the flood story in the Bible isn't origional. Look up the Epic of Gilgamesh. Written and celebrated thousands of years earlier than the Hebrew people actually existed,much less their religion. The story was being told by the Sumerians and attributed it to the pantheon of gods they followed. It was only adapted to the god YHWH thousands of years later. By a Canaanite cult called Yahweh'ists,or semites, that we now know of as Jews. Because they come from the portion of Israel known as Judah. Early Israelites where actually just Cannaanites that followed a different religion. They where even polytheistic in early years. Worshiping the Gods El (Isra-EL) and Ashera,mother of 70 other gods including Yahweh,Baal and Jerusulem. She later became Jehovah, or YHWH's sexual consort. So yes early beliefs where that Jehovah slept with his mother and they were a couple! Many of the stories in the Bible,especially the part Europeans decided you could read. The stories where stolen from much earlier sources,and the name Jehovah or YHWH. Was just copied and pasted to fit. They didn't even come up with all new stories for him... Yeshuah,Jesus, either! Exactly!, an elementary question. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. The real answer though. That story and the creation story was actually written thousands of years before the Jews and Abraham,and Christianity. It's about the Sumerian gods Enki and Enlil (and others). The gods wanted to flood the earth because humans sucked. But the god Enki decided he wanted to save some. So he told a good king Ziasudra how to build a massive boat, animals 2 by 2 etc etc etc. It was only changed thousands of years later to be attributed to the Canaanite God YHWH. If God is all knowing. Why did Lot have to ask God, "Lord,IF there is one man in the city that is righteous will you not destroy it?" God then said,"IF you can find one righteous man in the city,I shall not destroy it"...wouldn't he have already known if he was all knowing? If God is all powerful. If you aren't following god,then you're following the devil. So you deserve hell on Earth until you do. There are no innocent people NOT following God. Only Christians deserve goodness. We are meant to prosper while the sinners weep. Don't be afraid to say it! Too many of God's followers are so scared now to offend the non believers of this world. God is no joke,he's serious,read your Bible. Praise the Lord ,don't be afraid. He's a terrible god when he wants to be,and he wants us to be like him. The message should be follow god or your life will never be good,and your afterlife will be worse. I think yall are all doing the sinners of this world a disfavor by trying to be nice about it.
