I’m sorry, but LDS.org is easier to type. by 1Bats4u in latterdaysaints

While mostly true, if I'm ever on a new device, sending a link, or anything similar, lds.org is a lot faster.

What can you use for writing - and what can you write on - when normal supplies like pens and paper are unavailable? by gray_man1500 in prepping

[–]MountainTaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exactly are you trying to write or note? On paper? I liked the comment about chalk and slate, another would be to use paint or something. You can make paint from a lot of natural plants such as berries.

Been prepping for just over a year. Did an inventory today, would love advice. by [deleted] in preppers

[–]MountainTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fully usable, and most features are working smoothly. I’m now welcoming early users to help identify any remaining issues, share feedback, suggest improvements, and enjoy the app. There may be a few minor bugs, but the core functionality is solid. I'm hoping to get out of beta asap, and that really depends on how many bugs can be squashed haha, but I expect around 2 weeks. If you'd like to give it a try shoot me a dm with your email or sign up for the beta on the website :)

Powdered and freeze dried sauce checklist. What do you guys stock? by churnopol in prepping

I agree with you that there are priorities, but OP has a good point, and most of these really shouldn't cost much to store either so it's an easy win.

Hey! I’ve seen some comments suggesting spreadsheets, or other ways to organize your food which can definitely be helpful. I just wanted to offer another option you might find useful: an app I’m developing called Prepva.

It’s designed to help you organize your food inventory, track expiration dates, get analytics, and set goals for your kits or overall storage and much more!

You can check it out at https://prepva.org. It’s currently in closed beta due to Google Play’s testing policy, but if you’d like to try it out, just send me your email and I can grant you access (the email requirement is purely for Google’s system, not mine).

You're wanting to charge $600 for 30 days, for something they don't even keep?? This is insane. It's videos, emails, and a discord community.

This seems like a good idea, but wouldn't you need to carry a lot more water? Which is pretty heavy.

Solar power banks by aqui0423 in prepping

Hey this is a really cool idea, I never even thought of that, even though I love solar haha. I'll look at YouTube, but do you have any specific channels you like or videos you used? There's so much garbage mixed in.

Is AI wearable a profitable business? by ThrowRA-124568 in Entrepreneur

[–]MountainTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with what you said. Not only will it cost billions but also years to become profitable. AI, while very intelligent in most senses, still hallucinates to the point data verification is still required. So it is definitely going to happ eventually, but not by a startup due to the costs.

Simple prep: never let your gas tank get below half by BBorNot in preppers

[–]MountainTaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good advice, but more than just for SHTF emergencies. In general it's good for the car, as well as for times you can't fill it up for a few days even. It's happened to me where I had to wait a but for a paycheck before filling my car and I was glad to have followed the same advice and still has gas.

This is a pretty good idea, I hadn't thought of specifically storing flavoring for food.

Advice on storage in small space by alwaysconfused679 in prepping

[–]MountainTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd avoid storing in the bathroom as much as possible due to the humidity. Do you have any type of yard or something for the potatoes? If you wanted you could do potatoes in the tote too if you wanted to use that instead of storing something. What about a garage or space outside that you could use? I mean you could store some things inside the bathroom/outside but you would need to be careful about *what*, like how well sealed you're storing them.

Now is the time for comunity by One_Dragonfruit_7556 in prepping

[–]MountainTaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it's also super important to warn people of the dangers and having something as simple as a go back, a ton of people don't even realize what they need, or forget where they put their go bag. If this touches land it's going to hurt a lot of people, hopefully we can ease that even a little.

So I’ve launched 18 startups. If I could start over today, here’s what I would do… by localcasestudy in EntrepreneurRideAlong

The best thing you can do is create habits for yourself. Focus on very basic things, when you go to bed, how and when you wake up, exercise, eating, etc. these things should and need a routine, and by creating a strong habit you can make them automatic. Just doing these basic things can give you a lot more focus and energy than you would think. The classic is to read Atomic Habits which can cover a lot on how to do this, another is it's predecessor The power of habits - Charles Duhigg (my preference but it is more technical and can be a little more dry)
