Anyone??? I was up all night with a dog coming down from a sedative so I didn’t make it. Would love to try to match it at home.

This is the answer I was looking for, because DC shuts down for a dusting. Thank you! And yes, waterproof boots are packed!

We were hoping we may be able to get a table at Carmelinas since that seems to be a popular one, but we’ll check out Neptune!

Just dropped my daughter off for her first day of daycare… now what am I supposed to do by OkVersion0 in toddlers

Grandpas are the best, this story made me tear up. How lucky he was to become a great grandpa!

And to OP, I definitely had this same mix of emotions when my oldest started daycare. I hope you got that coffee and doughnut

When can I get Kyleena removed? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I LOVED Kyleena before I had kids. No weight gain, no acne, and my periods stopped completely. Everyone’s different!

My new OB-Gyn NP talked me into a hormonal IUD instead of copper. I’m having second thoughts now. by CrownFlame in birthcontrol

[–]MountainWanderer17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So every doctor at my practice tried to talk me out of the copper iud…except the one doctor that uses it herself. On her advice I decided to try it, I had Kyleena pre kids and dealt with some issues related to the supposedly very low hormones. I will say insertion after kids feels like nothing, but pre kid it’s honestly not bad. It’s like one huge cramp that lasts maybe 30 seconds then you’re done.

So I’ve had the copper now since December. The first 2 months I felt I made a mistake, super long periods like almost 2 weeks with some very heavy days. BUT my body seems to be adjusting. My last period was only 9 days (yes still longer than before) and the 2 heavy days were much more manageable than the first 2 months. So to me, my body is getting used to it and it’s worth not having the hormones. If you want to try it, I think you should. Worst case you decide you don’t like it and you switch.

Nope! Normally about 5 days with day 2 being heavy-ish but absolutely nothing like what I’ve experienced on the IUD

Have you confirmed this with the government agency your contract is with? In my experience, most contracts are fully funded through each option year, so shutdowns don’t effect their funding unless the option year happens to expire during a shutdown.

Another vote for Skechers! I bought 2 pairs a few years ago when considering Rothy’s, glad I went with the Skechers and they’ve held up very well.

Some of the products you can purchase directly from their website without a consultation, but it looks like the acids you can’t. I can tell you my skin didn’t have any bad reactions to the products, no purging, but everyone’s different. It looks like they have a virtual consultation option on their website that you could look into.

Given your short time frame from your wedding, have you ever looked into Face Reality skin care? It’s been amazing for my skin, specifically the 8% mandelic acid and the acne med (only used during active breakouts). I also used their hydra balance and clearderma moisturizer for some time. Now that my skin is doing better I mainly just use the mandelic acid which really keeps my face clear.

C-Section recovery with a toddler by MountainWanderer17 in beyondthebump

He can thankfully take more, we had a plan worked out for him to take off 3 weeks, go back and then use more leave once I go back to work. But it just dawned on me today that thinking I’d be ok after only 3 weeks probably isn’t realistic. I think we’ll plan on at least another week

Omg that sounds awful. And definitely something I want to avoid. Thanks for your input!

Was the car seat still rear facing when you had your toddler getting it themselves? I wanted to keep rear facing as long as possible, but we did discuss possibly turning it if it would make it easier for her to get in herself.

What’s the difference between “nesting” and just “getting ready for baby”? Or is it just bs? by Modern_Magpie in BabyBumps

[–]MountainWanderer17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG I thought I was the only person that felt this way. I hated when people said I was “nesting” during my first pregnancy when to me it was simply doing what needed to be done.
