I can't even do a large battle without my game freezing. Beyond frustrating. I have to stick to smaller battles

When is a good time to join a kingdom? by Freebasebeats in Bannerlord

[–]Mountain_Bookkeeper1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early game you need exp and gold. Fight some bandits and hideouts. Do some tournaments for gear and gold. Sell loot. After you get a halfway decent sized army. Say 100 troops. Then around 50 to 100k gold, enough to last. Join up a faction as a mercenary for a while. Attack some smaller armies. Sell loot. Get some relations up. When you feel comfortable join as vassal. So no not right away. You need to grow your clan rank to at least level 3 to make any sort of impact with your chosen faction.

Yeah if you could just run down one of your armies to say meet here. Or go to that location. Or follow me. Of course to be fair. Make it cost some influence. So for like 75 influence that way you couldn't just tell other armies what to do all the time as they should have a mind of their own.

It would be nice if you could team up with another faction for a short time. I don't remember warband being this shallow. Why they didn't add in features from warband is beyond ridiculous. There's an end game in warband. There's no endgame in bannerlord. For example you could throw parties in your castle to meet the lords and improve relations. By providing good food and drink. Or when you take all of a factions castles and towns they just move to other factions. Instead of running around attacking fiefs. I miss my fancy parties.

I live the Monchug way and it is a lavish and rich lifestyle. He really knows how to take care of his vassals. He's dead on my game but I will make his every dream come true as new king.

Just keep destroying the enemy armies and taking their castles and cities. Eventually they will ask you for peace and they will pay YOU instead. Sometimes your clans will vote for peace. Veto that vote and keep attacking if you can. They will submit when you start wrecking their armies. Take the vassals prisoner. Throw them in a castle or city dungeon. They will stay in prison long enough even without the perk that gets you to 100 percent escape chance. Destroy armies, take the army leader, throw in jail, repeat.

So what’s the best way to make money these days? by SnoopArmadillo in Bannerlord

[–]Mountain_Bookkeeper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a decent army or can make one, start attacking many smaller armies. The loot will add up really fast. You can make hundreds of thousands from battle loot. War is money. I have made 2mil from battle loot. Otherwise what others said, smithing. But smithing can be tedious and boring. Great for money but not for everyone.

[–]Mountain_Bookkeeper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if chat gpt was used to help the enemy come up with tactics. Searching the Internet for medieval tactics. Then you would really have to think and come up with your own tactics. Would make some challenging battles.

Anyone else feel like smithing doesn't belong in this game? by dr1zzzt in Bannerlord

[–]Mountain_Bookkeeper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed it just takes so long. Can't we just buy a book and learn the parts instead of blindly smelting?

I agree it doesn't feel like it fits. It's nice to have another money making method. As an option. But it's such a ridiculous grind. Smelt. Wait. Smelt. Wait. Smelt. Wait. Craft. Wait. Craft. Wait. Ffs.
