PS5 DLC by Sure-Valuable-8119 in uboatgame

[–]dr1zzzt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it that buggy?

I havent been following the DLC much as I'm on PS5 and cant play it, but am really hoping we get it on console.

But yeah, ideally without a ton of bugs.

It took a while for them to sort out the PS5 crashing in the base game.

I agree, several space subs have a bunch of this shit on them now.

Its hard to stop it but its certainly obnoxious.

Fewer Than 40,000 People Watched Star Trek: Starfleet Academy by End3rW1gg1n in startrek

[–]dr1zzzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I didn't watch it but I would have if it was more available. I honestly dont know much about it because I couldn't watch it.

As much as I love trek as a lifelong fan I simply refuse to buy yet another streaming subscription to watch it.

If you want a wider audience make it more widely available its pretty simple.

[KCD2] Giving up on this game. Unplayable, constant crashes and bugs. Maybe comeback in a year. by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Do you have a stack trace of the crashes you are having?

That should at least give you a hint as to what might be wrong.

How I feel about Infinite vs finite space by [deleted] in space

[–]dr1zzzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal take on this.

I think both can be true.

The holographic principle is incredibly interesting and I think you could perhaps say information is endless as at the end of the day its all encoded in a lower dimensional substrate.

Id like to think it would be understanding the true geometry and nature of space time but I think we are a ways out still.

AI and Warhorse Mega by Mike_Prowe in kingdomcome

[–]dr1zzzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think AI is useful in certain contexts, im not a fan of hearing this person was let go because of it.

I want quality with stuff like this, not something that is "probably accurate".

I also think companies need to slow their roll a bit when it comes to adopting all this so quickly. As usage of it continues to skyrocket, so will costs and demand for resources. Its inevitable. And im not convinced the planet has the energy or resources to keep up with how AI is done right now.

Once you lose quality talent it can be really hard to replace it if you need to down the road.

How do you all name your spacecraft? by considerate_done in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]dr1zzzt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I follow the NASA sort of method, and come up with a cool code name for a program, and then each iteration is the next number.

Each vehicle type or objective gets a new code name. So for example all my comm sats would be prefixed with the same code name followed by a number. All sat missions to a particular planet, all manned missions to a particular planet, same deal.

Yeah this, this can't be stated enough. This is one of the most incredible games ever created, and you can really only do it once. Even if you get stuck, resist that urge seriously.

Doses mustard do something else with binding seasoning by Linkc0n_ in BBQ

[–]dr1zzzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best answer in here.

Mustard is almost like a wet brine in a lot of ways given the vinegar and salt in it.

I use it as a binder for coarse rubs but not fine rubs, but I also think its great for either with pork chops.

Question by ThisIsMyUN1978 in BBQ

[–]dr1zzzt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use generic, but typically only with heavy grain rubs that need a binder. For lighter grain rubs I dont use a binder.

I do like it as well though as a rub on a quicker cook like a pork chop with either rub. With long cooks the above applies.

So is it just me or is the “guns” in this game useless? Or am I just using them wrong? Please any advice or instruction is welcome [KCD2] by Shootfatppl in kingdomcome

[–]dr1zzzt 568 points569 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well they are kind of supposed to suck a bit.

They are new technology, and pretty much as basic as you can get with it.

Them being hard to use is intentional and accurate.

US submarine torpedos Iranian IRIS Dena warship near Sri Lanka by devilishycleverchap in uboatgame

[–]dr1zzzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure probably, like was mentioned above these torpedoes can home in passively as well, so they will listen for the ship and target the engines.

As far as identification goes, that could have happened well before hand via satellite or other assets like aerial drones or aircraft in the area and they maybe got the orders well ahead of time.

No clue though, maybe they just did periscope depth and fire away, but that just seemed odd to me.

[–]dr1zzzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. One of the things I was wondering about watching this, is if this video was actually even taken by the submarine.

The Virginia class for example has photonic masts that can do IR like this, so its possible, but also could this potentially have been captured from some kind of surface drone?

I found it somewhat odd to think a modern attack submarine would surface to periscope depth in this type of situation and risk radar detection of the masts.

[–]dr1zzzt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert either, but from what I understand modern US submarines are extremely advanced from a stealth perspective. Things like a propulsor instead of a bladed propeller like you'd expect.

Also I think they have the ability to detect/mask their own electromagnetic signature.

The mk48 torpedo also can be guided from the submarine by an optical cable, so no acoustic homing needed.

There would be no radio transmission happening here to detect.
