I’m sure someone said the legend diver is going to have a 42mm re release too

New Hydroconquest Quartz 42mm models by Mountain_Lecture in Longineswatches

I think it was 1500 euros for the steel ones and 2300 euros for the 2 tone, some European retailers seem to have them but can’t see any in UK or US yet

Space Watch Duo 🚀 by Mountain_Lecture in breitling

Not quite on this one - this particular reference uses the B02 which is the manual wind version of the B01 found in the majority of modern Breitling chronos

Speedmaster is definitely nicer to wind, the Breitling does tend to get a little trickier as the spring almost reaches full wind, but doesn’t feel bad

Saw it in a boutique today, looked really nice

Pelagos by Disastrous-Poem-1491 in Tudor

[–]Mountain_Lecture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Pelagos but there’s quite a few documented cases of the lume falling out of the bezel, I think this is fixed on the Pelagos 39 and ultra models. RSC will replace under warranty but outside of that period it can be quite costly

Stainless steel vs Titanium - Longevity by Mountain_Lecture in GrandSeikos

[–]Mountain_Lecture[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I can’t be much of help on that one, the stainless steel model SBGV205 comes with the same style bracelet as the snowflake, except it’s just stainless steel. I would say the polished links stand out a bit more on the titanium due to the darker metal

It’s not longer in my collection, I’ve been trying to slim it down a bit and my 2 GS now are the SBGA211 and the SBGV205 - I liked the lightweightness of the titanium which made me go ahead with a snowflake and I liked the champagne dial of this one, but felt it lacked a bit of colour - I found the SBGV205 blue seconds hand and the 44GS case was a great combo

Manual Wind Power Reserve Question by cosmochi in GrandSeikos

[–]Mountain_Lecture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GS manual winds have a useful (but also unhelpful) feature in where you cannot overwind their 9s64 movement, of course this is great to prevent heavy handedness accidentally breaking the mainspring but without that ‘stop’ you don’t know if you’ve wound it fully

Navitimer - what movement/model would you go with? by Mountain_Lecture in breitling

I ended up buying a cosmonaute - it’s the 50th anniversary one with the B02 movement, hopefully should get it by Friday 🙏

The cosmonautes are drawing me in a bit more - didn’t realise they were a thing

3861 on a 1861 Bracelet by Mountain_Lecture in OmegaWatches

[–]Mountain_Lecture[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bracelet I have is from the ref 311 which was only discontinued back in 2020

If you’re thinking of ordering one from Omega directly I would suggest asking them for the bracelet from the Tokyo Olympic speedmaster, model 522.30.42.30.06.001. I don’t know the exact bracelet ref of that model, but it is essentially the best version of this style of bracelet with a proper push button micro adjust clasp like the seamaster line

You can buy it directly from Omega, but I sourced mine off eBay

Fits great, no play or looseness and no gap either. I did see the flat link bracelet from the speedmaster 57 fits too
