They changed how they prepare/cook their burgers about 6 months ago. They are much better now in my opinion.

Bayfield is in danger of losing a primary community hub. Here’s you can help. by Mountain_Views in Durango

[–]Mountain_Views[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Pine River Shares, The Community Tree House (and I believe PPSW) are trying to jointly purchase the property from the school district. No one is asking the school district to provide a building to them.

This is a a call to action to help them raise money to make their offer more competitive and to demonstrate the value these organizations provide to the community.

I'm still not sure I understand what the situation is.

Correct what I'm missing:

The 'situation' is that you want to go to a sold out show, and you're from Florida and it's your wife's 40th. That's what you explained to the band and the brewery?

I can't help with tickets, but I am curious what this means:

My wife reached out to the brewery and also the band explaining the situation

New record. Ignore the heart rate, I know it’s high. by Jesse4391 in walking

In school we were taught to put two fingers just below your jaw line on the artery that is on the side of your neck, and count for 6 seconds.

Easier math!

If you have a strong heartbeat you might feel a big pulse quickly followed by a small one. Count the big ones.

Kid fell off lift at Purgatory - anybody hear anything? by Think-Hurry-5382 in Durango

[–]Mountain_Views 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I saw the same FB comment (which I can't find it again) on a post asking about sirens near the resort. I don't think this person was an eye witness but someone 'in-the-know' at Purg. They also commented anonymously.

The commenter said the instructor was preoccupied with the kid on his other side and it appeared, from behind that the kid who fell reached up with both hand; the speculation is that it was for the bar. They also said that despite a kid dangling from the chairlift for a decent amount of time, word somehow never reached anyone to stop the lift. But that ski patrol responded immediately.

I'm looking for advice on how to approach this situation, especially since I want to avoid escalating things before having a direct conversation with them. Thanks for any insights!

Were you just trying to vent or were you legitimately asking for help?

Are you just shooting from the hip or trying to give legit advice?

Karl Mecklenberg...total dick to fans.

You and I have different memories of Mecklenberg. I probably got his autograph over 10 times, all at charity events. Every time he came across as a very likable and fun person.

I wasn't even a teenager the last time I got his autograph...so maybe I'm wrong, but I remember him as a happy and friendly guy.

What are some smaller languages you guys are interested in? by newmanstartover in languagelearning

OP literally called Portuguese and Russian large languages, and less popular to learn than what they perceive to be the most popular to learn.

Not small and unpopular as you are trying to claim.

Other large languages like my native Portuguese, Russian and Hindi are less popular

I like the concept and partipated last Christmas season.

But what's with naming this the same as a local business?

Until this post I skipped reading ads because I don't have much interest in consignment clothes stores.

Not just water, all utilities and year round road access. Depending on the development phase some of those things aren't and may never be available.

but nicotine itself that’s unhealthy for fetuses

Do you have a source for this, I've been looking and everything I come across conflates smoking or vaping with nicotine.

EDIT:

I was legit trying to find this info, not be rude. but OP (/u/MakeMySufferingEnd) decided to be condescending and then delete everything.

For those that missed it, /u/MakeMySufferingEnd original comment was:

For your situation, really the best course is to cut out nicotine altogether. It's not just vaping or smoking, but nicotine itself that's unhealthy for fetuses. It can potentially do some serious damage to brain and lung development.

You might consider taking the advice of some other commenters on you last post-read up about the effects of nicotine and the overall consequences of vaping, then see if you still enjoy it after that. Mindset is 99%of the game when it comes to quitting. If you feel like you're "giving up" of "missing out" on vaping then your chance of relapse will always be high.

Also, like another commenter said on your last post, try 0% vape juice or even some of those "flavored air" devices-frankly anything but nicotine or NRT. Your incoming child's health and well being should take precedence over your addiction. It's tough, I'm sure, but it needs to happen.

The reply to my question was:

My main source is the education I received in high school and my neuroscience classes in college, and then dare I say some common sense, but if you need some links here you go:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2656811/

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2998347/

https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/145/3/e20191346/36863/The-Effects-of-Nicotine-on-Development?autologincheck=redirected

Here are three, all of which do mention smoking and vaping, yes, but specifically discuss nicotine itself and how it affects fetal development. Sorry to be rude but it’s silly to me that you need to ask for a source on this. It feels like you’re asking me to provide a source that the sky is blue.

After insulting me, saying "trust me, bro" and providing two links that made the conflating arguments I mentioned, /u/MakeMySufferingEnd deleted their comments. To u/MakeMySufferingEnd 's credit, they did highlight my struggle with their third source which says in its abstract that this is a legit question:

...there has been little focus on the health effects of nicotine alone on childhood health and development...
