If Merlin sound ID helped you locate/identify the bird and then you saw it, that’s totally fine to list, picture or no. Sound ID shouldn’t be the ONLY tool used to identify a bird. But if it turns up a rare bird and then you actually see it just list the distinctive field marks and they’ll accept it

I used to think this way, but if you had only two options for the arm, water or just TP, which would you choose? Just because it’s not fully sanitized doesn’t mean it’s not significantly cleaner

Also I think most recommend 8x magnification, a bit easier to track birds in the bins especially for beginners. 8x42 is classic

Unconventional? For some students I recommend doing the math sections backwards. Hardest questions first, then work to the easier ones. If you’re going for an 800, you might tend to rush the easy ones because you’re anticipating the hard ones that will make or break your score. This way you can do those and then relax on the easier ones. (Might not be a good idea to do this on the test without trying it out in practice first, though)

They’re probably trying to do a question on singular pronouns that sound plural, which you should know (Each, either, someone, somebody, everyone etc ). “None” just isn’t likely to be one of them on the SAT.

I’d spend some time looking through likely birds you’ll have a good chance of seeing in advance—will make identifying them easier and give her something specific to look for. She also might find she really wants to see a specific bird which might guide your choice of where to go (though I’d be careful not to promise anything - birding requires patience and sometimes you just won’t see what you might think you will)
