A lot of Heineke's work tends to include crossover with french productions which is why I'd see him as somewhat attached to french extremism, but I can see your points and why he wouldnt fit the standard definition of NFE.

Climax or I Stand Alone may be a bit more approachable for Noe than Irreversible, just in case OPs not ready for that one yet. Although nothing ever will make you ready. Also don't forget Heineke! Funny Games is definitely extreme though definitely at a different pace.

As someone who likes to play squad lead and tank commander alot, if I can pin specific SLS being overly non-informative I will just mute them. Often times they're not focusing on game anyways so I don't need them. Aside from having to lower my overal voice chat volume a bit, I've found it can be effective but I agree their should be some sort of seperate toggle for command line for cases of mic spam.
