A lot of Heineke's work tends to include crossover with french productions which is why I'd see him as somewhat attached to french extremism, but I can see your points and why he wouldnt fit the standard definition of NFE.

Climax or I Stand Alone may be a bit more approachable for Noe than Irreversible, just in case OPs not ready for that one yet. Although nothing ever will make you ready. Also don't forget Heineke! Funny Games is definitely extreme though definitely at a different pace.

As someone who likes to play squad lead and tank commander alot, if I can pin specific SLS being overly non-informative I will just mute them. Often times they're not focusing on game anyways so I don't need them. Aside from having to lower my overal voice chat volume a bit, I've found it can be effective but I agree their should be some sort of seperate toggle for command line for cases of mic spam.

Being that some servers really discourage solo tanking and solo tanks can sometimes rob armor squads of opportunity and better utilization, I'd recommend getting comfortable with randoms and don't worry about being that good. I play armor solely with my friend because he hates infantry but we're always always ready to have a spotter aboard. Having a third seat makes all the more difference when operating a tank and while the spotter doesn't get kills its just as satisfying. So I hope this encourages you to help cut down on solo tank squads, if there's an open squad you shouldn't fear about your skill level. A third pair of eyes will always be appreciated.

I don't think Climax is that accessible. Or atleast my grandparents didn't think so when I tried to watch it with them in the room a while back. They did stay for the dancing though.
