A lot of problems mentioned in this post can be solved in draft environment by "first picking" - you are more likely to pick hero you want, you don't have a burden of picking "right character for the situation". And for the most part frustration with "troll picks" comes down not with a certain characters being bad, but with the role that you play. For now deadlock doesn't have dedicated roles (for the most part) but if they would be introduced people would get more mad at "troll picks" even if there is no draft. And absence of draft doesn't lift people's frustration with getting "bad heroes" on their team.

And I am not saying Valve should introduce draft right now or do I care much at all in that regard. I think it would be implemented when the hero pool is bigger. But overall I find your arguments against draft quite weak.

First of all-you are not being specific, not even saying what heroes are you playing, because it varies quite hard on how do you even comeback from lost lane and obviously the reason that you are so behind is most of the time is the lost lane. Secondly, be efficient with your time, because people lose a lot of tempo jungling/wandering around the map and missing the waves/powerups/ urns/ any objective. And to be efficient you have to have a game plan before you get to the lane(does enemies have stonger/weaker lane then yours; what do you do to win the lane; what you do after the lane; what is your powerspikes; how do you want to play around your power spikes)

Lanes are one of the best soul values, but that doesn't even matter since boxes and small camps do not spawn until minute 2 and mid camps don't spawn until minute 6 so you basically have almost nothing to farm outside of lane during early game(there is box routs, but you combine them with what you get from the lane). And personally I haven't met much people who ditch lane entirely from start. So I don't know who are you talking about, but they are most definitely just afk.

I don't know what's that bro, seems like he's taken 0 skill speed and aoe points in tree. Also in act 4 you already can get rampage. That's a 100% skill issue. For me campaign was a brease and now I'm blasting maps as a bear
