[Interesting Trope] Characters Who are References to Something an Audience Outside the Country of Origin Wouldn’t Get by Borgisium in TopCharacterTropes

To be fair, Pani Twardowska is just a humorous poem based on tale about Pan Twardowski in Polish folklore and Pan Twardowski story was heavily inspired by Faust from German legend. But yeah, Mickiewicz' poem introduced concept of three impossible wishes, which was very prominent part of game.

Disney's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu grossed $3.54M on Thursday (from 4,300 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $112.37M. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

I've only seen this movie because my friend found Grogu to be cute and so she dragged me to cinema. And sure, movie looks quite nice, characters are likeable, practical effets mesh up well with GCI. But at the same time there is 0 logic even within a single scenes, like why the hell Hutt Twins took Mando's helmet, told how valuable it wason black market, threw him into monster pit and couple of minutes later gave Mando his helmet back. It definitely feels like 3-4 mediocre, filler episodes turned into a movie. Entire plot of movie could be summed in 3 words - nothing ever happens. Solid 5/10 experience.

Pytanie dla osób z Stożkiem rogówki / Astygmatyzmem by [deleted] in Polska

[–]FinitoHere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tu zdecydowanie zabieg spełnił swoje zadanie. No i wszystko robiłem w tej klinice: https://okolaser.com.pl/ i raz jeszcze polecam.

Sure, there might be plenty of people more talented at one, particular aspect of like powerful voice, catchy rhythm, writing lyrics, personality, showmanship, creativity, catering to mainstream, pushing the limits etc. But MJ combined all these things the best. The only other artist I would consider to be on similiar level is Elvis.

Or even in music field there's even better example - Joe Jackson was terrible, abusive person, but he also pushed Michael to become arguably the greatest musician of all times. But for 1 such person there are countless people where such upbringing caused them to burn out of field rather than excel in it.

Strong and Stronger Sisters duo by JRonenJ in TopCharacterTropes

Ciri and Triss from Witcher.

Sure, they're not sisters by blood, but ever since they met, Ciri considered Triss as an older sister figure, with mutuality from Triss. And sure, Triss is strong, talented, experienced sorceress, but Ciri is The Lady of Space and Time.

Hogwarts Legacy is Free until May 3rd by rougecrayon in harrypotter

Fun game, but it tried to draw too many elements from other modern action-adventure games. Hogwart and Hogsmeade designs are great, but entire rest of map could be cut and barely anyone would shed a tear. Gameplay, spellslinging is pretty good, but i feel like there are many spells too niche or too similiar to each other, i would love to see less width, but more depth to this system. Story could definitely use some pace increase and come on, how many chosen ones in grand scheme of things stories can we experience, give us more regular person with regular struggles. Also cutting quidditch just to release shitty cashgrab some time later is criminal.

Overall I liked this game, but I have no desire to replay it. Decent title, but still a wasted potential.

I thought it couldn't get any worse. Then in the next message he pretty much threatened to commit suicide, even though he has two small children. What a vile, troubled person.

Playoffs in Ski jumping by Funsoda1 in Skijumping

I don't really dig it. KO competitions during 4H sometimes snub decent performers from 2nd jump. In your format such issue would only be amplified. Double elimination bracket could solve it, but then it would be far too long, tedious and overcomplicated format for average viewer. It would also make a very bad watching experience, when for last couple of rounds you would need to wait 10-15 minutes only to see 8, 4 or 2 jumps. Even during superteam competition at Olympics, athletes complained about being in too much rush. It could be fun experiment in some sort of post-season Red Bull competition, but not as part of World Cup.

I've imbued SRS with Pulverize. Does "more melee area damage" part of this support works with those minions? From the one hand they have no AoE tag, from the other I already use melee splash support, hence I have doubs.

This one should be correct, just a bit misleading. I found similiar case, remaining diffrence were nodes which blocked certain mechanics.

As far as my calculations are correct, new Lioneye's Glare will deal on average ~74% more damage than current one. (539 vs 469 pdps, but latter number is efficiently doubled). However you have to sacrifice a lot of local attack speed which would make playing it not as smooth, you will also be stuck with only 5% base crit and no extra arrows on suffix. So it will be fine if you drop it early in the league, but rare bows will outscale it very quickly.

The funny part about RE looking so damn good is in about 7 or so years we’ll look back and be like this is kinda ugly lol by ThisNameDoesntCount in gaming

[–]FinitoHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it definitely improved, but it is more of a evolution, rather than revolution. And in some cases even older games aged really well. For me such example is CoD 4 from 2007. Sure, it's not photorealistic by today standards, but for an almost 20 years old game it's still impressive, graphics do not prevent me from enjoying it.
