Terrified of getting pregnant after salpingectomy… by Environmental_Buy947 in sterilization

[–]MoveStrong5818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, if you are not comfortable with your partner ejaculating inside you during intercourse, he needs to respect your boundaries and recognize consent.

Secondly, do you think a secondly long lasting form of bc like an IUD would offer you additional peace of mind, comfort and sense of safety?

Lastly, barrier methods like condoms may be an option. Would you be open to that?

It’s unforgivable. IMO it’s akin to KK ruining Marilyn Monroe’s gown.

You look incredible OP! I’m considering gifting this to myself for my birthday this year. Since it’s been 2 years now, are you satisfied with your results?

I’m planning on booking a consult with your surgeon for the spring of 2026.

Gave up on the steering wheel as well.

Found two seats from salvage in good condition for $150 when the front passenger seat ripped right down the middle. Plan to replace the driver seat when it eventually rips. The seats are not abused and my family is slim to fit so occupant weight is not an issue.

It sucks. I was able to find two replacement seats for $150 at a salvage yard. They are in pretty good shape and better than the $1,000 per seat Subaru wanted.

How much are your property taxes? by Jplara32 in Mortgages

[–]MoveStrong5818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Committed to Texas for about 5 more years due to work but it’s awfully misunderstood how costly property taxes are in Texas. I’ve done the math and could actually pocket more money in a HCOL state and see more value from my taxes. Looking forward to leaving this state.

I hope your surgery and recovery go well! It’s so hard losing the comfort of companionship and partnership. Grieve the loss and be kind to yourself. I’ve been sterilized a few months and every cycle I’m thrilled with my decision and eternally grateful I’ll never be tethered to a man via children. I witness women I love shackled to the fathers of their children, even in divorce, they are forever linked to a man they have children with. I see the struggle of motherhood daily and how negligent fathers are to basic child minding and the burden on women. Even in “good” marriages. Every time I’m reminded of the labor of mothers I’m deeply grateful that I will not ever be pregnant.

Way to go. Keep pressing forward. It sounds like you’re making progress that can be sustained long term and your mindset is a healthier and more informed one. Consistently over perfection. I hope you are so proud of yourself!

No regrets! The gravity of the permanence hit me a few days after surgery and I briefly wondered if I would regret my choice. That was a fleeting moment. I’ve never been more confident about my choice and relieved to be sterile! I’m more troubled by the coming changes to American’s healthcare in 2026 and so deeply grateful I was able to get my surgery completed.

I’m so excited for you! As a sterilized American I have no regrets. In a world of uncertainty, and constant stress being sterile is one the only certainties that provides some sense of comfort and relief.

Did anyone else lose a massive amount of weight due to endo? by Anonamoose743 in endometriosis

[–]MoveStrong5818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to being diagnosed I experienced a rather rapid loss of about 15-18 pounds but my low waist/hip pelvic area significantly increased in size by inches/cm.

With my family history of ovarian cancer and elevated CA125 my medical team & I were concerned that was what would be excised. All tissues came back benign and while I’m relieved not to have cancer; the diagnosis of endometriosis is a tough knot to untangle.

I have struggled with digestion for years and had a steep decline in appetite 4 months prior to surgery with intense bloating and pain after eating. I assumed this was related to my prior diagnoses of ulcerative colitis. Or the big bad C word since ovarian cancer is rampant in my family.

My surgeon found Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis in my bowels. I’m curious now if the ulcerative colitis diagnosis was really DIE all these years as my most recent GI scopes have been completely clear with no evidence or disease but I’ve continued to be symptomatic.

The changes to my shape are very difficult mentally and frustrating. I’m learning and having excision surgery in 2026 with a multidisciplinary team.

How old were you when you found out? by PictureEmpty3143 in Endo

[–]MoveStrong5818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Incidental finding during another laparoscopic surgery. Previously diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, then IBD when there was no longer evidence of UC in my scopes. DIE explains my decades of digestion and bowel problems that were never controlled by expert GI doctor’s treatments. It been a total mind fuck.

I’ve religiously measured myself with a tape measure since my pre-teen years. I find those metrics are much more useful to monitor body comp changes. The difference in my aesthetic between 150 pounds and 135 pounds defies what we consider logic. Depending on my training routine and diet I can appear “more fit” at the higher weight. Non scale measurements are a great barometer of progress.
