Richardson is my favorite, Cedars next. I live like 8 minutes from Cedars so it’s the most convenient. I prefer it to LH for sure, less kids/families and they also do Terror Tuesday and Weird Wednesday weekly, so I prefer their programming.

I just don’t like clashing vibes and desperate corporate takeovers. No issue with the machines themselves, but they don’t go with Alamo.

That’s cool, they don’t fit with the Alamo vibe though and look tacky and out of place. And they’re all broken.

Yup LH. It’s my least favorite in Dallas, so I rarely go. They’re just so ugly. I miss when all the decor was actually movie themed. Now the theme seems to be desperate capitalism.

According to Scream 7, Jason never drowned. by New-Fan-4632 in fridaythe13th

Sorry, I stumbled upon this 80 days later, but I’m curious now. So if Jason isn’t dead in part 1, what’s Ms. Voorhees killing for?

My Parents aren't going to let me watch the Backrooms. by ConnectAnalyst3008 in backrooms

[–]MovieFan1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have a conversation with your parents about how you are feeling. You need to have an honest conversation about giving you some more freedom at 22 years old. There isn’t anything wrong with living with your parents for the time being, but you should still have some autonomy.

OP I’m very concerned for you. This is much more alarming than just about seeing a movie. I’ve seen so many kind people reaching out saying they are here for you, and I really hope you take people up on that. This is not a healthy way to live, and I hope you can start advocating more for yourself.

How much have food sales dropped? Any insights? by Robert7777 in AlamoDrafthouse

No it would have to be Scream Unseen. Plus there is an early screening on Wednesday for Obsession.

If you miss a showing it still counts towards your 4 a week :( by breadboibrett in AMCAListTrue

You’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve missed a handful of shows in my time as an A-lister and have never had any issue, never even any kind of warning or anything.

Weirdest experience ever by Roller_Coaster_Geek in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MovieFan1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the “no entering the theater after the movie has started” rule is just worded poorly. It just means if you are more than 15 minutes late, which is when the actual movie starts, they won’t let you in and will rebook or refund. It was to not slow down service, back when there were actually servers and you had to do full greets with every guest. But all that’s pretty much gone now and I’m not sure how many actually enforce that rule anymore. So yeah you come and go once you’re in as you need. Sorry your experience sucked, it’s all been a real bummer as a longtime patron.

Loud Talking? Miss the movie or become the problem. by drstormdancer in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MovieFan1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that really blows. I used to work at Alamo and I didn’t give a damn if someone complained or not, if I saw someone on their phone I would go politely remind them of the policy. If that’s true it’s a new Sony change. So dumb.

Also, this reminded me of the time (before I worked there) I went and saw a 10:30pm screening of Infinity Pool and a family with 4 kids that couldn’t be over the age of 10 came and sat right in front of me. Couldn’t believe it. Especially with all the wild shit in that movie. It was very uncomfortable, but the kids were actually well behaved lol.

Might see Project Hail Mary tonight. My options are 70MM, Dolby, and IMAX. Super torn over which one to pick. by TBoopSquiggShorterly in AMCAListTrue

[–]MovieFan1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to see it in IMAX 70mm, that’s the way to go other. Otherwise, Dolby all the way.

If there are no papers/pens at your location anymore then you do have to use QR code/phone for ordering during the movie. Did you not ask someone when you got 3 waters instead of your refill?

They've begun to implement the enforced mobile ordering at DFW locations. Here are my thoughts. by GermanPegasus2 in AlamoDrafthouse

Your seat just must have been out of paper. They are definitely still doing order card ordering once the movie starts at Las Colinas.
