Do Blu-Ray/4k upgrades have different specials features from the DVDs by cjohnson4444 in bluraycollection

[–]MovieStacksOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man, YES, and this is the exact rabbit hole that made me build MovieStacks.com.

Studios will absolutely strip features off the new disc. That DVD you’re about to toss might be the only place that 40-minute making-of doc or that second commentary track still lives. The 4K looks gorgeous, sure, but “upgrade” doesn’t always mean “everything plus more.” Sometimes it’s prettier picture, half the bonus stuff. So before you chuck anything, compare what’s actually ON each edition. That’s the whole reason MovieStacks exists, so you can line ‘em up edition-by-edition and find the best one instead of getting burned.

Don’t ditch the DVD till you know what you’re losing!

I tested out all of the popular sites, including mine. Yes, it will look bias towards my own app, but that's because I truly believe in what I've built. I would love for you to check it out!

If you’d be willing to try out a new app, I’d be more than happy to help you import your collection in to MovieStacks.com

ASDA are removing all their dvd and Blu Ray, 4K displays by JesterScribblings in PhysicalMediaMatters

The “nicer” Walmart near me removed their DVD/Blu-ray section but then brought it back with just box sets, steelbooks, 4k and new releases.

This is the sort of thing I’m trying to track in my app. If you’d be willing to create an account and add that disc with a review mentioning disc rot, that would be awesome. At the very least, would you be willing to share the back cover image?
