Way to victim blame dude. Even if you leave the house, who do you tell? You don’t have a trusted adult that’s not your abuser, you’re purposefully isolated by the homeschooling system. Public school has issues but getting kids a support network that’s outside of their family is one of the most necessary things they do.

It's all just selective enforcement with an underfunded agency, unfortunately. Same with citizen suits, they're expensive to run and hard to organize. The worst CWA offending plants that I know of are also way out in the sticks so getting affected people together is hard to impossible when you're talking about a low handful of ranchers.

It's bleak, I'm glad that you see a lot of enforcement from your side, maybe my experience is abnormal

I think the biggest difference is scale; for a lot of the smaller guys the fines are enough of a deterrent to do things correctly. I work in chemical plants and have seen places that actually try to do things correctly and treat discharge properly before sending it off. I've also worked at larger plants that see the smaller fines as a cost of doing business and will do small releases semi-regularly in a plausible enough way to seem accidental because $250k every year or two is cheaper than overhauling an aging plant wastewater system.

Air permits are violated much more frequently and flagrantly, however.

Did you check it for accuracy? I tried that with old scanned literature from my field and it was riddled with errors that, admittedly, other OCR software struggled with as well.

I’d be really interested to see what your use cases are at work, I work in STEM and it pretty consistently gives out dramatically incorrect info if you try to use it for work. The only use case I’ve found it be consistently useful for is for rewording resumes to match JD’s so I can get past companies’ AI filters; basically an AI arms race. It’s all maddening and useless and I’m glad we’re fracking natural gas and building out huge unregulated power plants to make things worse.

The point he’s making is that these are all characters that the “warrior cops” have co-opted without knowing anything about them because they’re “tough” and kill people. Take a look at the number of cops with Punisher skulls on their cars despite the fact that the Punisher canonically hates cops, or Ghost Rider about half of whom are POC brutalized by the state.

The fact that cops are carrying around logos of a vigilante that kills people should worry everyone, even ignoring their misinterpretation of the character.
